대통령실이 28일 김정은 북한 국무위원장의 중국 항일전쟁 승전 80주년 기념행사 열병식 참석 계획(9월 3일) 발표와 관련해 "정부는 사전에 인지하고 있었다"고 밝혔다.
강훈식 대통령 비서실장은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실 기자간담회에서 "관계기관을 통해 알고 있었다. 오늘 발표될 거란 얘기도 오늘 아침 보고받았다"며 이같이 말했다.
강 비서실장은 "이번 한·미 회담도 이런 일들 영향을 기본으로 받았다"며 "(한·미회담에서 논의가) 잘된 부분들은 이런 흐름 연장선에서 해석해볼 여지가 있다는 말씀을 드린다"고 전했다.
또 "아직 (북·미 대화) 공간·방식·시기 등을 확정할 단계는 전혀 아니다"며 "적어도 트럼프 대통령이 김 위원장과 대화하겠다는 의지를 보이지 않았나"라고 했다.
이어 "대화 가능성을 부정하지 않았다는 것만으로도 향후 남북 간 채널을 여는 데 도움될 것"이라며 '북·중·러 밀착 움직임을 조심스럽게 바라봐야 하는 시기 아닌가'란 질의에 "기본적으로 우리는 중국과의 관계가 한반도 비핵화·평화·안정 방향으로 발전하길 기대하고, 남북 간 대화·협력 채널은 늘 열려 있다"고 전했다.
