【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환)는 지난 8월 23일과 29일, 교내 재난안전공유협업센터에서 「의료종사자를 위한 한국형 전문소생술(심화과정) 자격 취득 프로그램」을 운영했다.

이번 교육은 경상북도 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업의 일환으로, ‘환동해 재난·안전 지역특화형 전문인재 양성’을 목표로 한 특성화 교육혁신(Safety-up Edu) 전략에 따라 마련됐다. 지역 의료기관에서 발생할 수 있는 심정지 상황에 효과적으로 대응하고, 의료진의 전문역량을 높이기 위한 취지다.
교육에는 경북 지역 간호사와 응급구조사 29명이 참여했으며, 특히 포항성모병원, 포항세명기독병원, 포항의료원 소속 의료진이 함께해 협력적 역량 강화의 의미를 더했다. 과정은 ▲심정지 전 단계 환자 평가 ▲신속대응팀(RRT) 역할 수행 ▲고급기도 관리 ▲부정맥 인지 및 대처 ▲팀 기반 시뮬레이션 훈련 등으로 구성돼 실제 임상에서 즉시 활용할 수 있는 실습 중심으로 진행됐다.
참가자들은 “시뮬레이션을 통해 실제 임상과 유사한 상황을 경험하며 위기 대응 자신감을 얻었다”, “다양한 부정맥 상황에 팀 단위로 대응하면서 협업의 중요성을 다시 확인했다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 또한 “응급대처 역량이 크게 향상됐다”, “향후 심화 과정이나 재난·응급 관련 프로그램에도 참여하고 싶다”는 의견도 이어졌다.
선린대학교 RISE사업단장 김병용 교수는 “이번 교육은 지역 주요 의료기관과의 협력을 기반으로 환자 안전과 지역사회 안전 역량을 동시에 강화한 성과”라며 “앞으로도 재난·안전 분야 특성화 교육을 지속적으로 확대해 지역 의료진과 함께 성장하는 교육 모델을 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Sunlin University Conducts Advanced Life Support Training for Healthcare Professionals
Sunlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) held the "Korean Advanced Life Support (Advanced Course) Certification Program for Healthcare Professionals" at the campus' Disaster and Safety Sharing and Collaboration Center on August 23rd and 29th.
This training program, part of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Regional Innovation-Oriented University Support System (RISE) project, was designed in accordance with the "Safety-up Edu" strategy, which aims to foster specialized talent for disaster and safety in the East Sea Rim. The goal is to effectively respond to cardiac arrest situations that may occur at local medical institutions and enhance the professional capabilities of medical staff.
Twenty-nine nurses and emergency medical technicians from the Gyeongsangbuk-do region participated in the training. The participation of medical staff from Pohang St. Mary's Hospital, Pohang Semyung Christian Hospital, and Pohang Medical Center further strengthened collaborative capabilities. The course focused on practical training that could be immediately applied in clinical settings, including ▲pre-cardiac arrest patient assessment ▲Rapid Response Team (RRT) role performance ▲advanced airway management ▲arrhythmia recognition and response ▲team-based simulation training.
Participants shared their experiences, saying, "Through simulations, I gained confidence in crisis response by experiencing situations similar to real-life clinical situations," and "Recognizing the importance of collaboration while responding to various arrhythmia situations as a team." Participants also expressed, "Our emergency response capabilities have significantly improved," and "We hope to participate in advanced courses or disaster/emergency programs in the future."
Professor Kim Byeong-yong, Director of the RISE Project at Sunlin University, stated, "This training, based on collaboration with major local medical institutions, has simultaneously strengthened patient safety and community safety capabilities. We will continue to expand specialized disaster/safety training to create an educational model that fosters growth alongside local medical professionals."
