한중교류촉진위원회(위원장 이창호)는 최근 국토교통분야 전문가 김우철 씨를 국토교통 상임위원으로 위촉했다고 2일 밝혔다. 이번 위촉은 한중 간 인적·물적 교류 확대와 국토·교통정책 협력의 필요성이 커지는 상황에서 실질적 가교역할을 강화하기 위한 조치이다.

김우철 신임 상임위원은 김대중정부에서 국회정책연구위원을 역임한 이래 더불어민주당에서 15여년간 국토·교통분야에서 활동하며 정책기획과 현장경험을 두루 쌓아왔다. 지속 가능한 도시개발, 교통 인프라 확충, 스마트 물류체계 구축 등에 깊은 관심과 전문성을 보여온 인물로 평가받는다.
