【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 동구청은 '팔공산 불교문화의 화려한 꽃을 피우다 – 부인사지 사적 승격을 위한 국제학술세미나'를 연다고 3일 밝혔다.
오는 11일 대구경북첨단의료산업진흥재단 대강당에서 열리는 세미나는 우리나라 최초의 대장경인 초조대장경 봉안처로 확인된 팔공산 부인사의 국가사적 승격을 추진하기 위해 마련됐다.
초조대장경은 고려 현종 2년(1011년) 거란 침입을 극복하기 위해 조판된 대장경으로, 현존하는 팔만대장경보다 200여 년 앞선다. 그러나 1232년 몽골 침입으로 부인사와 함께 소실되면서 봉안처를 둘러싼 논란이 이어졌다.
하지만 지난해 부인사지 발굴조사에서 '부인사' 명문이 새겨진 고려시대 기와가 출토되며 초조대장경 봉안처 논란은 사실상 마무리됐다.
세미나에서는 국내외 전문가들이 모여 부인사의 역사·고고학·건축학적 가치를 검토하고, 사적 지정의 필요성을 논의한다.
한기문 경북대 명예교수가 '부인사의 역사와 위상'을 주제로 기조강연에 나선다.
이어 △고고학적 조사 성과(박정현 세종문화유산재단 선임연구원) △출토 기와 검토(최영희 강릉원주대 초빙교수) △공간 변화와 건축적 특성(도윤수 동국대 불교학술원 팀장) △건축사적 가치와 복원 방향(현승욱 강원대 교수) △교토 남선사일체경의 역사(시미즈 아키히로 테츠카야마대 교수·나메카타 케이타로 산토리미술관 학예사) △사적 승격 제언(최태선 중앙승가대 교수) 등 주제 발표가 진행된다.
종합토론에는 최정혜 전 복천박물관 관장, 류성룡 고려대 교수, 유재춘 강원대 교수가 참여한다.
윤석준 동구청장은 "부인사지 발굴 성과는 천 년 전 고려 불교와 기록문화사의 정수를 보여주는 귀중한 증거"라며 "학술 논의 결과를 바탕으로 국가사적 승격을 추진하고, 시민과 함께 가꾸는 문화유산으로 발전시키겠다"고 말했다.

The seminar, to be held on the 11th in the main auditorium of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation, aims to promote the status of Buinsa Temple on Palgongsan Mountain, confirmed as the enshrinement site of the First Tripitaka Koreana, Korea's first Tripitaka Koreana.
The First Tripitaka Koreana was printed in 1011 (the second year of King Hyeonjong's reign) to repel the Khitan invasion, predating the extant Tripitaka Koreana by approximately 200 years. However, it was destroyed along with Buinsa Temple during the Mongol invasion in 1232, sparking controversy over its location.
However, the excavation of the Buinsa Temple site last year unearthed a Goryeo-era roof tile bearing the inscription "Buinsa Temple," effectively ending the debate over the location of the First Tripitaka Koreana.
The seminar will bring together domestic and international experts to examine the historical, archaeological, and architectural value of Buinsa Temple and discuss the necessity of its designation as a historic site.
Han Ki-moon, Professor Emeritus of Kyungpook National University, will deliver a keynote speech on "The History and Status of Buinsa Temple."
Following presentations will be on the following topics: △Archaeological Survey Results (Park Jeong-hyeon, Senior Researcher, Sejong Cultural Heritage Foundation); △Examination of Excavated Roof Tiles (Choi Yeong-hee, Visiting Professor, Kangneung-Wonju National University); △Spatial Changes and Architectural Characteristics (Do Yun-soo, Team Leader, Dongguk University Institute of Buddhist Studies); △Architectural Value and Restoration Directions (Hyun Seung-wook, Professor, Kangwon National University); △History of the Kyoto Nanzen-ji Ilchekyō (Professor Shimizu Akihiro, Tezukayama University; Namekata Keitaro, Curator, Suntory Museum of Art); △Proposals for Historic Site Promotion (Choi Tae-seon, Professor, Joongang Buddhist University).
The general discussion will include Choi Jeong-hye, former Director of the Bokcheon Museum; Ryu Seong-ryong, Professor, Korea University; and Yoo Jae-chun, Professor, Kangwon National University. Dong-gu District Mayor Yoon Seok-jun stated, "The Buinsa Temple site excavation is invaluable evidence of the essence of Goryeo Buddhism and recorded culture from a thousand years ago." He added, "Based on the results of this academic discussion, we will pursue its elevation to national historic site status and develop it into a cultural heritage site that citizens can nurture together."
