브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김정은 북한 국무위원장과 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령이 중국 전승절 열병식 참석을 계기로 양자 회담을 열고 양국 간 군사 협력을 재확인했다.
3일 러시아 타스통신과 리아노보스티에 따르면 푸틴 대통령은 양자회담 모두발언에서 “북한 특수부대가 쿠르스크 해방에 기여했다”며 “당신의 병사들은 용감하고 영웅적으로 싸웠다”고 감사를 표했다.
그는 또 “북한군과 그 가족의 희생을 잊지 않을 것”이라며 “모든 북한 주민에게 나의 가장 따뜻한 감사를 전해 달라”고 강조했다.
북한은 지난해 러시아의 우크라이나 전쟁을 지원하기 위해 파병을 시작했으며, 최근 전투공병 1000명을 추가로 보낸 것으로 알려졌다. 전쟁 과정에서 북한군 사망자는 약 2000명에 달하는 것으로 추산된다.
김정은 위원장은 “러시아를 돕기 위해 할 수 있는 일이 있다면 전적으로 나설 것”이라며 “이를 형제적 의무로 간주한다”고 밝혔다.
김 위원장은 이어 “러시아를 돕기 위해 모든 일을 하겠다”며 푸틴 대통령의 평가에 감사를 전했다. 그러면서 “지난해 6월 포괄적 전략적 동반자 관계 협정을 맺은 이후 양국 관계가 모든 면에서 발전하고 있다”고도 덧붙였다.
한편, 이번 회담은 지난해 6월 평양 회담 이후 1년 2개월 만이다. 두 정상은 회담 전 중국 전승절 80주년 열병식에 참석해 시진핑 중국 국가주석과 함께 북·중·러 결속을 과시했다.
