브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조국혁신당 강미정 대변인이 당내 성 비위 사건 처리에 문제를 제기하며 탈당을 선언했다. 당은 즉각 반박하며 당헌·당규에 따른 절차를 모두 마쳤다고 강조했다.
강 대변인은 4일 국회 소통관에서 기자회견을 열고 “저는 오늘 당을 떠난다”며 “공감과 연대의 대가로 상처받고 모욕당한 많은 당원 동지들께 위로와 감사를 전한다”고 밝혔다. 그는 “검찰개혁이라는 목표 때문에 흔들리지 않았지만, 그 길 위에서 동지라 믿었던 이들로부터 성희롱과 성추행, 괴롭힘을 마주했다”고 말했다.
앞서 지난 4월 조국혁신당 소속 당직자가 상급자로부터 성추행·성희롱을 당했다며 당 윤리위와 여성위에 피해 사실을 알리고 경찰에 고소한 바 있다. 당은 지난 5월 가해자로 지목된 당직자를 직무에서 배제하고 피해자와 분리 조치했다고 발표했다.
그러나 강 대변인은 “피해자 중 한 명은 지난달 탈당했고, 관련 사건의 쇄신을 요구했던 세종시당 위원장은 이달 1일 제명됐다”며 “운영위원 3명도 징계를 받았다”고 지적했다.
이어 “피해자를 도운 조력자도 징계를 받고 사직서를 냈고 또 다른 피해자 역시 사직을 준비 중”이라며 “이것이 제가 침묵을 끊고 탈당을 선언한 이유”라고 강조했다.

그러나 조국혁신당은 곧바로 입장문을 내고 강 대변인의 주장에 대해 반박했다.
당은 “성비위 및 괴롭힘 사건과 관련해 피해자 요구사항을 모두 수용했고, 외부 기관이 전담 조사했으며 외부 인사 중심의 인권특위 점검도 받았다”고 밝혔다. 또 피해자 지원이 미흡했다는 주장에 대해서는 “심리치료비 지원을 의결했다”고 설명했다.
윤리위와 인사위가 가해자 측 인물로 구성됐다는 지적에도 “오해 소지가 있는 위원은 모두 절차에서 회피했고, 사건은 외부 인사가 책임을 맡아 진행했다”고 반박했다.
또한 괴롭힘 신고 조력자 징계 논란과 관련해 “불법 녹음 행위와 제3자 제공에 따라 규정과 절차에 따른 징계를 의결했다”며 “사실과 다른 주장이 제기된 점은 유감”이라고 덧붙였다.
