【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 관문상가시장에서 전통시장의 역사와 정서를 기록한 '관문상가시장 아트팝업 전시전'을 내일부터 오는 26일까지 개최한다고 밝혔다.
관문상가시장은 1975년 공식 개설됐지만, 그 이전부터 대구 서쪽 관문으로 소규모 상업 활동이 이뤄졌다. 1980~90년대에는 다양한 상품군과 전문 상점이 들어서 생활문화 중심지로 발전했고, 2000년대 이후에는 문화 행사와 커뮤니티 프로그램을 통해 지역 공동체의 상징적 공간으로 변화했다.
이번 전시는 육성사업의 일환으로 시장의 역사와 정체성을 아카이브로 기록하고 공유하는 자리다. 누구나 무료로 관람할 수 있으며, 관문상가시장 2지구(대구 남구 대명서8길 9-2)에서 열린다.
관문상가시장의 빈 점포를 활용해 사진과 영상 작품을 선보이는 방식으로 구성됐다. 기록 사진, 상인들의 생업 영상, 현재 시장의 활기찬 풍경이 전시되며, 지역 청년예술가들이 참여해 예술적 해석을 더한다.
박삼수 관문상가시장 상인회장은 "전통시장의 이야기를 사진과 영상으로 재조명해 시민과 나눌 수 있게 된 것이 매우 뜻깊다"며 "이번 전시가 시장과 주민, 예술이 함께하는 계기가 되기를 바란다"고 밝혔다.
조재구 남구청장은 "관문상가시장이 단순한 거래 공간을 넘어 문화와 교육이 융합된 지역 거점으로 발전하고 있다는 점에서 의미가 크다"며 "앞으로도 전통시장이 지역민과 함께 살아 숨 쉬는 공간이 되도록 행정적 지원을 이어가겠다"고 말했다.
