【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=코레일 경북본부(본부장 박찬조)는 2013년 4월 12일부터 운행을 시작한 백두대간 협곡열차(V-train)가 2025년 9월 4일부터 새롭게 단장되어 운행을 재개한다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 운행 재개는 지난 7월 24일부터 진행된 노후 개소 정비를 마친 뒤 이루어졌다. 정비 작업에는 지붕 보수, 오래된 화목난로 철거, 선반 추가 설치, 전동 휠체어석 공간 마련 등 고객 편의 개선이 포함됐다.
협곡열차 운행 시간표 확인과 예매는 코레일 홈페이지(www.korail.com), 코레일톡 앱, 또는 가까운 역에서 가능하다.
한편, 봉화군은 협곡열차 이용객에게 다양한 볼거리와 즐길거리를 제공하기 위해 분천역 산타마을 정비사업을 추진 중이다.
박찬조 코레일 경북본부장은 “협곡열차를 이용하는 모든 분들이 지역경제 활성화에 큰 힘이 되어 주신다”며 “앞으로도 안전하고 쾌적한 서비스를 제공해 고객들에게 큰 즐거움을 드릴 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Baekdudaegan Valley Train (V-train) Resumes Operations After 12 Years of Renovation
KORAIL's Gyeongbuk Headquarters (Director Park Chan-jo) announced on the 4th that the Baekdudaegan Valley Train (V-train), which began operation on April 12, 2013, will resume operations on September 4, 2025, after a complete renovation.
This resumption of operation follows the completion of maintenance work on aging sections that began on July 24th. Meanwhile, Bonghwa County is currently promoting the Buncheon Station Santa Village renovation project to provide diverse attractions and activities for Valley Train passengers.
Park Chan-jo, head of KORAIL's Gyeongbuk branch, said, "Everyone who uses the valley train is a great help in revitalizing the local economy," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide safe and comfortable service and bring great enjoyment to our customers."
