브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 한국수입자동차협회(KAIDA)가 발표한 8월 수입 승용차 신규 등록 통계에 따르면 테슬라가 국내 수입차 시장을 석권하고 있다.
차량 모델별 신규등록 대수를 살펴보면, 테슬라 모델Y는 4805대가 팔리며 전체 1위를 차지했으며 모델Y 롱레인지도 1878대로 2위에 올랐다. 테슬라의 또 다른 주력 모델인 모델3 역시 1290대로 3위를 기록하며 테슬라가 상위 3위권을 모두 석권했다.
외제차 전통의 강자인 독일 프리미엄 수입차 브랜드들이 그 뒤를 추격하고 있으나, 격차는 매우 컸다.
BMW 520이 1153대로 4위에 올랐고, 메르세데스-벤츠 E300 4매틱(726대)과 E200(686대)이 각각 5위와 6위를 차지했다.
BMW 530 xDrive는 544대가 신규 등록되며 7위에 올랐다.
그 외 브랜드 중에서는 볼보 XC60 B5 AWD가 519대로 8위를 기록했고, 렉서스 ES300h가 495대로 9위를 차지하며 일본차의 체면을 지켰다.
BMW X3 2.0은 400대 판매되며 10위에 이름을 올렸다.
이로써 8월 수입차 시장은 테슬라의 전기차가 절대적 우위를 보이며 판도를 뒤흔든 가운데, 독일 프리미엄 3사와 함께 일본과 스웨덴 브랜드가 나란히 상위권을 형성하는 분위기다.
브랜드별 등록대수로 보면, 테슬라(Tesla) 7,974대, 비엠더블유(BMW) 6,458대, 메르세데스-벤츠(Mercedes-Benz) 4,332대, 볼보(Volvo) 1,313대, 아우디(Audi) 1,263대, 렉서스(Lexus) 1,249대, 토요타(Toyota) 883대, 포르쉐(Porsche) 765대, 미니(MINI) 665대, 랜드로버(Land Rover) 446대,폭스바겐(Volkswagen) 410대, 비와이디(BYD) 369대, 포드(Ford) 354대, 폴스타(Polestar) 257대, 지프(Jeep) 121대, 혼다(Honda) 111대, 푸조(Peugeot) 72대, 링컨(Lincoln) 58대, 캐딜락(Cadillac) 57대, 페라리(Ferrari) 29대, 마세라티(Maserati) 26대, 지엠씨(GMC) 24대, 람보르기니(Lamborghini) 24대, 벤틀리(Bentley) 23대, 롤스로이스(Rolls-Royce) 16대, 쉐보레(Chevrolet) 5대였다.
또한 KAIDA는 8월 수입 승용차 신규등록대수는 2만7304대로, 이는 지난 7월보다 0.8% 증가했으며 전년 동월 대비 22.6% 증가한 것이라고 설명했다.
정윤영 KAIDA 부회장은 “8월 수입 승용차 신규등록은 브랜드별로 물량확보 및 신차효과에 따른 증가와 휴가철 영향으로 인한 감소가 혼재하는 가운데 전월과 비슷한 수준을 유지했다”라고 설명했다.
August's Best-Selling Imported Cars Ranked...Tesla and Model Y Sweep Top Spots
According to August new registration statistics released by the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA), Tesla is dominating the domestic imported car market.
Looking at new registrations by model, the Tesla Model Y ranked first overall with 4,805 units sold, followed by the Model Y Long Range with 1,878 units. Tesla's other flagship model, the Model 3, also ranked third with 1,290 units, securing Tesla's top three spots.
German premium imported car brands, traditionally strong in the imported car market, are chasing after Tesla, but the gap remains significant.
The BMW 520 ranked fourth with 1,153 units, while the Mercedes-Benz E300 4MATIC (726 units) and E200 (686 units) ranked fifth and sixth, respectively.
The BMW 530 xDrive ranked 7th with 544 new registrations.
Among other brands, the Volvo XC60 B5 AWD ranked 8th with 519 units, and the Lexus ES300h secured 9th place with 495 units, maintaining the reputation of Japanese cars.
The BMW X3 2.0 ranked 10th with 400 units sold.
With this, the imported car market in August is shaking up with Tesla's electric vehicle dominance, with the three German premium carmakers, along with Japanese and Swedish brands, vying for the top spots.
By brand, the number of registered vehicles is Tesla 7,974, BMW 6,458, Mercedes-Benz 4,332, Volvo 1,313, Audi 1,263, Lexus 1,249, Toyota 883, Porsche 765, MINI 665, Land Rover 446, Volkswagen 410, BYD 369, Ford 354, Polestar 257, Jeep 121, Honda 111, There were 72 Peugeots, 58 Lincolns, 57 Cadillacs, 29 Ferraris, 26 Maseratis, 24 GMCs, 24 Lamborghinis, 23 Bentleys, 16 Rolls-Royces, and 5 Chevrolets.
KAIDA also explained that the number of newly registered imported passenger cars in August reached 27,304, a 0.8% increase from July and a 22.6% increase year-on-year.
KAIDA Vice President Jeong Yun-yeong explained, “New registrations of imported passenger vehicles in August remained at a similar level to the previous month, with increases due to increased volume and the new car effect by brand and decreases due to the holiday season.”
