브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 대우건설이 지난 4일 발생한 울산 현장 근로자의 사망 사고에 대해 사과했다.
대우건설은 5일 “지난 4일 울산의 건설 현장에서 동료 근로자 한 분이 온열질환으로 의심되는 사고로 유명을 달리한 것에 대해 머리 숙여 사죄드린다”며 “사랑하는 가족을 잃어 슬픔과 고통을 겪고 계실 유가족들께도 진심으로 애도와 사과의 말씀을 드린다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “사고 원인 규명을 위해 다음 주 초 부검이 예정돼 있다. 그 결과가 나와야 정확한 원인을 알 수 있을 것으로 보인다”며 “그러나 회사는 부검 결과에 상관 없이 동일한 상황이 발생하지 않도록 전 현장을 대상으로 안전수칙 준수 여부와 모든 근로자의 건강 상태를 확인하고, 작업중지권 등 위험요인 제거 활동이 정상적으로 작동하고 있는지 특별 점검을 실시하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
또한, “해당 현장의 모든 작업을 중지하고 경찰, 고용노동부 등 관계 당국이 사고 원인을 조사하는 데 적극적으로 협조하겠다”며 “사망 원인을 떠나 피해자와 유가족분들께 필요한 지원을 아끼지 않고 끝까지 책임 있는 자세로 모든 조처를 하도록 하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 이번 사고는 지난 4일 오후 2시 50분경 울산 플랜트 터미널 건설공사 현장의 액화천연가스(LNG) 탱크 상부 데크 플레이트에서 원인을 알 수 없는 이유로 근로자 1명이 쓰러져 즉시 병원으로 이송해 치료를 시작했으나, 끝내 당일 오후 9시경 사망했다.
당시 현장에는 대우건설 직원 2명을 포함해 총 8명이 현장에 있었으며, 사망한 근로자는 3명과 함께 청소 작업을 하던 중 쓰러졌다.
