6일 전북소방본부에 따르면 지난 5일 오후 11시 5분께 고창군 성내면의 한 양계장에서 원인을 알 수 없는 불이나 소방 당국에 의해 27여 분 만에 진화됐으며 인명피해는 발생하지 않았다.
이 불로 강파이프 구조 5동(1,113㎡)가운데 2동이 전소되고 1동이 부분 소실돼 사육하고 있던 병아리 12,000수가 폐사했다.
