원자력환경공단, '안전한국훈련 3년 연속 우수기관‘ 선정

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈)이 지난 5일 행정안전부 주관‘2025년재난대응 안전한국훈련’평가에서 3년 연속 우수기관으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

안전한국훈련은 행정안전부의 ‘재난 및 안전관리 기본법’에 따라 실시되는 범국가적 재난대비훈련으로, 전국 300여 개 중앙부처, 지방자치단체, 지방행정기관 및 공공기관이 참여한다.

원자력환경공단은 지난 6월 28일 중저준위 방사성폐기물처분장(이하 방폐장)에서 경주시, 소방서, 경찰서, 동국대학교 병원 등 11개 유관기관과 협업하여 훈련을 진행하였으며, 태풍에 의한 시설 피해와 사상자 발생 상황을 가정해 실시됐다.

참여기관과 재난안전통신망을 활용해 신속하게 소통하고, 각 기관의 역할을 실전처럼 수행하며 현장 대응력을 보여준 점이 심사에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

아울러, 공단은 방폐장 인근 지역 초등학교를 대상으로 재난안전교육을 실시하고, 협력사 경영진과 안전간담회를 통해 현장 안전점검 및 국정과제를 공유하는 등 지역 및 협력업체의 안전확보를 위해서도 노력중이며, 기후위기에 따른 새로운 재난 유형에도 대비하여 산불대응 수막설비를 설치중에 있다.

조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 “3년 연속 안전한국훈련 우수기관 선정이라는 큰 쾌거는 모든 이해관계자의 적극적인 참여 덕분”이라며, “지속적인개선으로재난대응체계를 강화하여 어떠한 재난 상황에도국민의 안전을 지킬 수 있게 안전하게 방폐장을 운영하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

 Korea Radioactive Waste Agency Selected as an Outstanding Institution for the Third Consecutive Year in the "Safe Korea Training"

Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KOREA) (Chairman Cho Sung-don) announced on the 5th that it had been selected as an Outstanding Institution for the third consecutive year in the "2025 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training" evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
