(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 관세청 인천본부세관이 10일, 인천항 국제여객터미널에서 마약류 밀반입 차단과 면세 농산물 불법 수집행위 단속을 위한 ‘명예세관원·시니어 항만 서포터즈와 함께 하는 민·관 합동 밀수 예방 캠페인’을 전개다고 밝혔다.
인천본부세관에 따르면, 이번 캠페인은 추석절을 앞두고 인천항 국제여객터미널을 이용하는 해외여행자가 증가할 것에 대비해 사전에 전단지 배포, 현수막 설치 등 홍보활동을 강화하여 불법행위를 예방하려는 취지에서 기획됐다.
코로나19로 인해 운행을 멈췄던 한·중 카페리선이 2023년 8월 정상화 이후 해외여행자가 꾸준히 증가하는 추세이며, 올해 1월부터 7월까지 해외여행자는 약 29만 명으로, 이는 전년 같은 기간에 비해 14% 가량 늘어난 수치다.
