【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 정원호)는 10일 월성본부 산업안전체험장에서 에너지와 여성 울산 동구지회 회원 45명을 대상으로 시민 안전체험활동 1회차 프로그램을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 지진, 화재 등 각종 재난 상황에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있도록 실질적인 안전 교육을 제공하기 위해 마련됐으며, 경주·포항·울산 시민 300여명을 대상으로 총 6회차에 걸쳐 운영될 예정이다.
참가자들은 △월성본부 산업안전체험장 탐방 △생활 속 재난 유형 이해 △고소지역 완강기 탈출 실습 △심폐소생술 실습 △화재·지진 발생 시 대응 요령과 대피 체험 등 다양한 안전훈련을 직접 경험했다. 전문 강사 지도 아래 진행된 체험활동은 실제 재난 상황 대응 능력 향상에 초점을 맞췄다.
홍금진 회장은 “평소 경험하기 어려운 재난 상황을 직접 체험할 수 있어 좋은 기회였다”며, “이번 체험 덕분에 실제 위기 상황에서도 침착하게 대응할 자신감을 얻었다”고 소감을 전했다.
정원호 본부장은 “재난은 준비가 곧 안전”이라며, “시민들이 체험을 통해 익힌 대응 요령이 실제 위기에서 소중한 생명을 지키는 힘이 될 것”이라고 강조했다. 이어 “앞으로도 산업안전체험장을 적극 활용해 지역사회와 함께하는 안전문화 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters (Director Won-ho Jeong) announced on the 10th that it held the first safety experience program for citizens at the Wolseong Headquarters Industrial Safety Experience Center for 45 members of the Energy and Women Ulsan Dong-gu Branch.
This program, designed to provide practical safety training to help citizens effectively respond to various disaster situations, such as earthquakes and fires, will be held over six sessions for approximately 300 citizens from Gyeongju, Pohang, and Ulsan.
Participants experienced various safety training sessions, including a tour of the Wolseong Headquarters Industrial Safety Experience Center, understanding common disaster types, practicing escape from high-altitude rescue devices, practicing CPR, and learning how to respond to fires and earthquakes and evacuation drills. The activities, conducted under the guidance of professional instructors, focused on improving disaster response skills.
Chairman Hong Geum-jin said, "It was a great opportunity to experience disaster situations firsthand, something I wouldn't normally experience," adding, "Thanks to this experience, I gained the confidence to respond calmly in a real crisis."
Director Jeong Won-ho emphasized, "In disasters, preparation is safety," and added, "The response skills citizens learned through this experience will help save precious lives in real crises." He added, "We will continue to actively utilize the Industrial Safety Experience Center and do our best to foster a safety culture in partnership with the local community."
