브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 최근 해외 온라인 쇼핑몰을 통한 직구 물품에서 마약류 성분이 대거 검출되면서, 해외직구 경로를 통한 마약 밀수가 급증하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
진성준 더불어민주당 의원이 관세청 자료를 분석한 결과, 해외직구 물품의 주요 반입 경로인 국제우편과 특송화물에서의 마약 적발량은 2020년 88.5kg에서 2024년 581.7kg으로 557.2% 증가했다. 올해 7월까지도 249.4kg이 적발됐다고 11일 밝혔다.
최근 5년간(2020~2025년 7월) 관세청이 적발한 마약은 총 4,824건(6,338kg)으로, 시가 약 1조9,094억 원에 달한다. 이 중 국제우편과 특송화물을 통한 적발 건수는 3,553건(2,423kg)으로 전체의 73.7%를 차지했다. 국제우편 적발량은 38.2kg에서 81.1kg으로 2배 이상 증가했고, 특송화물은 50.2kg에서 168.4kg으로 3배 이상 급증했다.
또한, 신종 마약류 적발 건수도 크게 늘어 2,879건(934kg, 51.3%)으로, 필로폰·코카인·대마를 넘어섰다.
연령대별 단속 현황에서는 20~30대 청년층의 비중이 59.7%로 가장 높았다. 30대가 33.0%, 20대가 26.7%를 차지했으며, 40대 19.3%, 50대 11.3% 순이었다. SNS와 디지털 플랫폼을 통한 마약 유통이 확산되면서 청년층이 주요 대상이 되고 있는 것으로 분석된다.
이에 대해 진성준 의원은 “해외직구를 통한 마약 밀수가 전체 적발량의 70% 이상을 차지하고 있으며, 연령대도 낮아지는 추세라 매우 우려된다”며 “관세청 등 관계기관은 해외직구 마약 단속과 실시간 통관 검증 체계를 강화하는 등 체계적인 대응책 마련이 시급하다”고 강조했다.
