누가 한국 사회의 분열(分裂)을 촉발시키는 것일까? 최근 우리나라에 대통령이 3명이라는 말들이 공공연하게 떠돌고 있다. “용산 대통령=이재명, 여의도 대통령=정청래, 충정로 대통령 김어준”이라는 말이 그것들이다. 우리나라는 헌법 체계에 의해 대통령이 단 한 명이다. 두 명이거나 그 이상일 수는 없다. 그런데도 대통령이 3명이라는 말들이 나돈다.

이런 말들은 호사가(好事家)들의 말이 아닌, 국민의힘 대변인실도 언급한 내용들이다.
국민의힘 최보윤 수석대변인 은 지난 9월14일자 “책임과 품격이 사라진 개딸의 나라, 대한민국” 제목의 논평에서 정청래 더불어민주당 당 대표를 ‘여의도 대통령’으로 지칭했다. 그는 이 논평에서 “민주당에 묻습니다. ‘여의도 대통령’으로 불리는 정청래 대표와 강성 지지층의 뜻에 따라 여당 원내대표조차 쉽게 흔들리는 것이 과연 정치입니까?”라고 따지면서 “국회는 특정 집단의 전유물이 아닙니다. 국민이 위임한 대의 기관입니다. 그러나 민주당의 강경 정치로 합리와 상식은 실종되고, 국회는 특정 세력의 영향력에 휘둘리는 공간으로 전락했습니다. 합리적 목소리는 줄어들고, 극단적 주장만 커지고 있습니다. 지금의 국회가 과연 21세기 대한민국의 모습이라 할 수 있겠습니까?”라고 힐난(詰難)했다
국민의힘 박성훈 수석대변인은 지난 9월13일 “'충정로 대통령' 김어준씨, 민노총을 향해서도 '회사에 불만이면 시위하지 말고 그만 퇴사하라'고 하십시오!” 제목은 논평을 냈다. 이 논평에서 “김어준 씨의 막말은 이재명 정부의 독선적 국정 운영과 맞닿아 있으며, 결국 국민의 고통을 외면하는 천박한 인식의 연장선일 뿐입니다. 더 큰 문제는 이런 발언이 개인의 돌출 행동을 넘어, 여의도를 배후에서 흔드는 이른바 ‘상왕 정치’의 민낯을 보여준다는 점입니다. 민주당 106명의 의원이 줄줄이 그의 방송에 출연하고, 당 대표 선거조차 그의 입김에 의해 좌우된다는 말이 공공연히 나돌 지경입니다.”고 전제하고 “대한민국 국회를 조롱하며 군림하는 ‘여의도 상왕, 충정로 대통령 김어준’ 같은 존재에게 굽신거릴 수밖에 없는 민주당의 현실이 애처롭기만 합니다.”고 강조했다. '충정로 대통령 김어준'을 각인(刻印)시켜 줬다.
조선일보는 지난 9월15일자 “우상호 '여의도·충정로? 대통령은 이재명 한 분" 제목의 기사에서 ”우상호 대통령실 정무수석은 '대한민국을 이끄는 대통령은 이재명 한 분이다'며 이른바 '여의도 대통령', '충정로 대통령' 설을 호사가들의 입방아일 뿐이라고 밀어냈다.“고 보도했다.
이어 “우상호 수석은 15일 공개된 조선일보와 인터뷰에서 ''여의도 대통령 정청래’, '충정로 대통령 김어준'이라는 말이 나돈다"라는 물음에 "모든 것이 다 과장된 이야기다. (정청래 대표와 김어준 씨 등) 영향력 있는 이런저런 사람들을 자꾸 대통령이라고 지칭하는데 바람직하지 않다'며 이같이 말했다”고 덧붙였다.
현실적으로 대통령이 3명이라면, 국가에 좋을 수도 있고 나쁠 수도 있다. 좋다는 의미는? 막강한 국가의 권력이 분점(分店)되기 때문이다. 대통령이 3명이면, 혼란수습을 위해 머리를 맞 댈 수 있음직 하다. 나쁘다는 것은 국가의 분열(分裂)이다. 국가가 갈갈이 찢겨, 어디로 가는지도 모를 수 있 수 있다. '3대통령 3명설'의 유포(流布)는 현직 대통령의 힘을 빼는 일이다. 여당 내의 권력투쟁을 가시화 시키는 일일 수도 있다.
정청래 더불어민주당 당 대표는 이재명 대통령의 집권과정을 곁에서 지켜봤다. 이재명 대통령은 당 대표의 자리를 거치면서 권력을 쟁취해냈다. 우리나라 법은 대통령에 출마할 자격이 주어지는 한, 누구든 대통령에 출마할 수 있다. 정청래 더불어민주당 대표도 국민의 한 사람이다. 그도 이재명 대통령을 벤치마킹, 대통령에 도전할 수 있을 것이다. 그런 의미에서 더불어민주당 당 대표로서 대권에 대한 야망(野望)이 있을 수 있다. 이는 아주 자연스러운 것이다. 그러나 그는 결코 현재 '여의도 대통령'일 수 없다.

언론인 김어준 씨도 '충정로 대통령'으로 호칭되어지는 모양인데, 하지만 그는 절대로 대통령일 수 없다. 그런 말들에 휘돌려선 안 되고, 그런 분위기를 조장해서도 곤란하다.

Choi Bo-yoon, the People Power Party's senior spokesperson, referred to Democratic Party leader Chung Cheong-rae as the "Yeouido President" in a commentary dated September 14th titled "Republic of Korea: A Country of Dogs Who Have Lost Responsibility and Dignity." In this commentary, he asked, "I ask the Democratic Party. Is it truly politics when even the ruling party's floor leader is easily swayed by the will of Chairman Chung Cheong-rae, known as the 'Yeouido President,' and his hard-line supporters?" He then criticized the National Assembly, saying, "The National Assembly is not the exclusive property of a specific group. It is a representative body entrusted to the people. However, due to the Democratic Party's hardline politics, rationality and common sense have disappeared, and the National Assembly has become a space swayed by the influence of certain forces.
