부평구에 따르면, 공직윤리제도는 공직자의 부정한 재산증식을 방지하고, 공무집행의 공정성을 확보하기 위해 마련된 제도이다.
운영실태 평가는 공직자 재산등록·공개·심사, 퇴직공직자 취업·행위제한, 주식백지신탁제도 등 공직윤리제도 운영 전반에 대해 11개 분야 28개 항목에 걸쳐 진행됐다.
부평구는 전 분야에서 고르게 높은 점수를 받았으며, 특히 재산신고 의무자가 정확하게 신고를 이행할 수 있도록 사전 홍보와 선제적 점검을 적극적으로 실시한 점이 높이 평가받았다.
