강미애 세종미래교육연구소 대표가 최교진 교육부 장관 취임과 관련해 견해를 밝히는 글을 내놨다.
강 대표는 13일 기고문을 통해 "세종교육에서 보여주신 노력과 열정이 대한민국 교육의 미래를 이끄는 자리로 이어진 것을 뜻깊게 생각한다"면서 "3선의 교육감 현장 경험이 대한민국 교육의 무대에서 펼쳐질 것" 이라고 의미를 부여했다.
그는 "최교진 교육부 장관은 세종교육감으로서 재직하는 동안 혁신교육과 미래형 교육과정을 선도했다"며 "지역 사회와의 협력을 통한 교육 발전과 혁신적인 교육 정책을 세종에 자리잡도록 했다"고도 말했다.
다만 "교육 정책의 일관성과 지속성을 확보하는 일은 단기 성과보다 훨씬 중요한 과제일 것"이라면서 "정치적 환경이나 정권 교체와 무관하게, 교육의 방향이 흔들리지 않도록 장기 비전을 마련해 달라"고 요청했다.
그러면서 "기초학력 보장을 출발점으로 하되, 창의성과 비판적 사고, 협치 능력을 함양하는 수업과 환경이 교육현장을 지킬 수 있기를 기대하고 학교와 교직원이 교육자로서 보람을 느낄 수 있는 실현 가능한 정책이 학교현장에 구현되길 바란다"고 했다.

세종교육을 책임졌던 최교진 교육감이 새 정부의 사회부총리 겸 교육부 장관으로 취임하심을 진심으로 축하드립니다. 세종에서 3선의 교육감 경험과 현장교육의 경험이 대한민국 교육의 무대에서 펼쳐질 것입니다.
