【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구농업마이스터고 학생 57명이 충북 청주농업고등학교에서 열리는 ‘제54년차 전국영농학생축제’에 대구 대표로 출전한다.
이번 대회는 16일부터 18일까지 3일간 열리며, 충청북도교육청과 한국농업교육협회 충북지부가 주관한다.
축제는 농업과 농업교육의 발전 방향을 제시하고 미래 농업 인재를 양성하기 위한 전국 최대 규모의 행사다.
대구농업마이스터고는 경영과제, 창업아이템, 농산물마케팅, 연구과제 등 과제이수발표대회와 원예·재배·조경 등 전공 경진대회에 참가한다.
또 조경설계, 화훼장식, 글로벌 리더십대회, FFK 골든벨, 예술제 등 다채로운 종목에서 실력을 겨룬다.
지난해 부산대회에서 금상 1개, 은상 1개, 동상 4개를 거둔 대구농업마이스터고는 올해 금상 3개 등 총 17개 입상을 목표로 하고 있다.
대구는 1998년과 2012년에 전국영농학생축제를 개최한 바 있으며, 2026년 제55회 대회를 대구농업마이스터고에서 열 예정이다.
강은희 교육감은 “학생들이 농업의 가치를 체험하고 역량을 마음껏 발휘하길 바란다”며 “미래 농업을 이끌 핵심 인재 양성을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Fifty-seven students from Daegu Agricultural Meister High School will represent Daegu at the 54th National Agricultural Student Festival, held at Cheongju Agricultural High School in North Chungcheong Province.
The three-day festival, held from the 16th to the 18th, is hosted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Office of Education and the North Chungcheong Branch of the Korea Agricultural Education Association.
The festival is the nation's largest event, designed to present the future direction of agriculture and agricultural education and foster future agricultural talent.
Daegu Agricultural Meister High School students will participate in presentations on business projects, startup ideas, agricultural product marketing, and research projects, as well as specialized competitions in horticulture, cultivation, and landscaping.
Students will also compete in a variety of disciplines, including landscape design, floral arrangements, the Global Leadership Competition, the FFK Golden Bell, and an art festival.
Daegu Agricultural Meister High School, which won one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals at last year's Busan competition, aims to win a total of 17 awards, including three gold medals, this year.
Daegu hosted the National Agricultural Students Festival in 1998 and 2012, and the 55th competition is scheduled to be held at Daegu Agricultural Meister High School in 2026.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee stated, "I hope students experience the value of agriculture and fully demonstrate their capabilities. We will actively support the development of key talent who will lead the future of agriculture."
