당진시, 중앙 협력·향우 교류 거점 서울사무소 개소…

충남 당진시가 중앙과의 협력 강화를 위한 새로운 거점을 마련했다. 동시에 수도권 향우회가 고향을 돕는 정성을 보태며 지역 상생의 의미를 더했다.

당진시는 15일 서울 여의도에서 ‘당진시 서울사무소’ 개소식을 열고 본격 운영에 들어갔다고 16일 밝혔다. 개소식에는 오성환 시장을 비롯해 서영훈 시의회 의장, 어기구 국회의원, 재경·재인·재안산·재안양당진향우회 인사와 주요 내빈들이 참석해 자리를 함께했다.

서울사무소는 향후 중앙부처·국회와의 긴밀한 협력은 물론, 투자유치와 시책 홍보, 향우회와의 교류 협력을 이어가는 교두보 역할을 맡게 된다. 시는 이를 통해 국비 확보와 주요 현안 대응에 속도를 낸다는 계획이다.

오성환 시장은 기념사를 통해 “서울사무소는 당진과 중앙을 잇는 든든한 가교로, 국회와 정부와의 협력 체계를 강화하며 지역 발전을 위한 다양한 성과를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
