그룹은 내년부터 공채 참여 계열사를 기존 포스코·포스코인터내셔널 중심에서 더 넓혀, 청년들에게 보다 공정한 경쟁 기회를 제공할 방침이다. 또한 2026년 이후에도 안전, AI, 연구개발(R&D) 분야 채용을 강화해 올해와 비슷한 규모의 고용을 이어가고, 향후 5년간 총 1만5000개의 양질의 일자리를 창출한다는 계획이다.
아울러 포스코그룹은 청년들의 취업 역량 강화를 위해 2019년부터 민·관 협력으로 「청년 AI·Big Data 아카데미」를 운영 중이다. 지난 6년간 약 1400명의 청년 구직자가 교육을 받았으며, 이 가운데 800여 명이 취업에 성공하는 성과를 거뒀다. 그룹은 앞으로도 아카데미 운영과 인턴제도 확대 등을 통해 실무 중심의 취업 교육을 강화할 예정이다.
포스코그룹 관계자는 “청년이 희망을 가질 수 있는 일자리를 안정적으로 제공하는 것은 기업의 중요한 사회적 책임”이라며 “공정한 채용과 미래 인재 양성을 통해 국가와 지역사회 발전에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
