김정관 산업부 장관, 경주 방문해 APEC 경제인행사 준비상황 점검

경주시에 따르면 김 장관은 주낙영 경주시장과 함께 경주예술의전당, 화랑마을, 화백컨벤션센터(HICO), 강동리조트 등 주요 행사장과 숙소를 차례로 둘러보며 동선, 안전, 부대시설 점검에 나섰다. 이날 현장 점검에는 산업부 실무진과 김상철 APEC 준비지원단장, 이성우 대한상의 APEC추진본부장, 경북도 및 경주시 관계자들이 동행했다.

김 장관은 글로벌 CEO와 정상들이 이동할 경로를 직접 걸으며 객석 안전, 무대 뒤편 시설, 화장실·파우더룸 등 세부 공간까지 꼼꼼히 확인했다. 이어 경제인 숙소로 지정된 강동리조트에서는 숙박 준비 상태를 살폈다.

현장 점검 후 열린 APEC 경제인행사 민간추진위원회 회의에서는 대한상의 추진단장의 준비현황 보고가 이뤄졌으며, 민간위원들과 성공적인 행사 개최를 위한 세부 계획이 논의됐다.

김 장관은 “APEC 경제인행사는 우리 기업의 저력을 세계에 보여줄 기회의 장”이라며 “정부도 총력 지원해 한국 기업이 글로벌 무대로 뻗어나갈 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “경주가 세계 경제인이 모이는 국제무대가 되는 만큼, 도시 이미지와 편의 제공에서 차질이 없도록 마지막까지 세심히 준비하겠다”며 “이번 행사가 경주가 첨단 산업·문화·관광이 융합된 세계적 도시로 도약하는 계기가 되도록 하겠다”고 강조했다.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-kwan personally inspected preparations for the upcoming APEC business summit in Gyeongju on the 18th.

Following the on-site inspection, the APEC Economic Leaders' Event Private Sector Promotion Committee meeting was held. The head of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI)'s Promotion Team reported on the current status of preparations and discussed detailed plans for a successful event with private sector members.

Minister Kim stated, "The APEC Economic Leaders' Event is an opportunity to showcase the potential of our companies to the world," adding, "The government will provide full support to help Korean companies expand into the global arena."

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, "As Gyeongju becomes an international stage where global business leaders gather, we will meticulously prepare until the very end to ensure the city's image and convenience are maintained.
