브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당이 국민의힘과 통일교 연루 의혹을 제기하며 정당 해산 가능성까지 언급하고 나섰다.
정청래 민주당 대표는 19일 국회 최고위원회의에서 “헌법 8조 4항은 정당의 목적이나 활동이 민주적 기본질서에 위배될 경우 정부가 헌법재판소에 해산을 제소할 수 있도록 하고 있다”며 “국민의힘은 이미 위헌 정당 해산 청구 대상임을 여러 차례 지적해왔다”고 밝혔다.
정 대표는 “윤석열 피고인의 유죄 확정, 추경호 전 원내대표의 계엄 해제 표결 방해 의혹 등 내란 사건과 관련해 주요 인사들의 책임이 드러난 데 이어, 국민의힘이 통일교와 연루됐다는 사실까지 확인된다면 통합진보당 사례에 비춰 열 번, 백 번 정당 해산을 피하지 못할 것”이라고 주장했다.
이언주 최고위원은 “2021년 국민의힘 대선 경선에서 윤석열 후보에게 투표한 권리당원이 21만명가량이었는데, 그 절반 이상이 통일교 교인으로 추정된다면 이는 정교분리 원칙을 정면으로 위배한 사상 초유의 국정농단 사건”이라고 비판했다.
황명선 최고위원도 “충격을 넘어 경악스럽다”며 “종교 권력에 기생한 정치집단은 존립할 자격이 없다”고 목소리를 높였다.
민주당은 동시에 사법부를 향한 압박도 이어갔다.
정청래 대표는 “조희대 대법원장은 내란 전담 재판부 설치에 소극적이었다”며 사퇴를 촉구했고, 전현희 최고위원은 “내란 전담 재판부 설치법은 사법 신뢰 회복을 위한 특단의 조치다. 내란종식의 마무리를 조희대 대법원에게 맡길 수 없다는 사법 불신이 현실이다. 조 대법원장은 결자해지하시기 바란다”라며 법안 발의 사실을 공개했다.
황명선 최고위원은 조희대 대법원장을 겨냥해 “특검은 조희대 대법원의 사법 쿠데타 의혹을 철저히 수사하고 책임을 물어야 한다”고도 요구했다.
반면 국민의힘은 강하게 반발했다. 장동혁 대표는 “민주당이 특검을 정치공작의 도구로 삼고 있다”며 전날 이뤄진 특검의 당원 명부 압수수색을 위법이라 주장하고 특검을 고발하겠다고 밝혔다. 송언석 원내대표도 “500만명에 달하는 우리 당원 규모를 고려하면, 통계적으로 어떤 집단 명단에서도 수만 명이 겹치는 건 자연스러운 일”이라며 민주당의 주장을 일축했다.
