(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 지난 18일 인천 강화도에서 조업 중 해상으로 추락한 어민을 신속하게 구조했다고 밝혔다.
중부해경청에 따르면, 이날 추락사고 당시 해당 어선은 교신이 끊긴 상태였으며, 주변 선박이 이상함을 느껴 신고하게 됐다.
이에 중부해경청은 오후 2시 19분경 헬기를 현장으로 급파해 인근 갯바위에서 추락자를 발견했다.
추락자는 헬기로 구조되어 현재 생명에는 지장이 없는 것으로 전해졌다.
중부해경청 관계자는 “바다에서 발생하는 긴급 상황에 빠르고 체계적으로 대응하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 국민의 안전을 최우선으로 삼아 24시간 구조 태세를 유지하겠다”고 말했다.
