대구를 기반으로 활발히 활동 중인 민간 예술단체 ‘노보필하모닉오케스트라’가 오는 9월 23일 열리는 ‘2025 월드오케스트라페스티벌’ 무대에 오른다. 지역과 세계를 잇는 음악 축제로 자리 잡은 이번 행사에 민간 예술단체로서 참여해, 대구 클래식의 다양성과 역량을 보여줄 예정이다.
노보필하모닉 오케스트라(NPO)는 대구 지역의 뛰어난 젊은 연주자들로 구성된 프로 오케스트라다. 수준 높은 콘서트뿐만 아니라 대중들에게 친숙한 음악들로 청중과 함께 호흡하는 차세대 오케스트라로 알려져 있다.
2005년 국내 최초로 설립된 대구 예술영재교육원에서 성장한 연주자로 구성되었다. 당시 이들을 가르쳤던 음악감독 이재준 지휘자가 오케스트라 결성을 주도했다.

이재준 예술감독은 계명대와 계명대학원에서 기악 전공 후 도미해 미국 USC(남가주대학) 음대에서 합창지휘 석사 과정을 거쳤다. 러시아 글린카국립음악원(노보시비르스크)에서 오케스트라와 오페라 지휘 최고 연주자 과정을 마쳤다.
현재는 노보필하모닉오케스트라와 필그림뮤직센터의 예술감독으로 지역 음악계의 저변 확대와 예술적 수준 향상에 기여하고 있다.
이번 공연에서 노보필하모닉 오케스트라는 ‘2025 월드오케스트라페스티벌’의 위촉 작곡가 서은정의 ‘어울림의 향연’으로 공연의 막을 연다. ‘어울림의 향연’은 대구콘서트하우스의 위촉을 받아 작곡된 곡.
국악과 서양음악, 고전과 현대의 다양한 음악적 요소를 유기적으로 결합해 조화와 소통의 메시지를 담아냈다. 전통과 현대, 동서양이 어우러지는 음악적 여정을 통해 축제의 취지인 ‘지역과 세계의 연결’을 상징적으로 표현한다.

이어지는 무대에서는 바이올리니스트 임지영의 협연으로 차이콥스키의 ‘바이올린 협주곡’이 울려 퍼진다. 임지영은 퀸 엘리자베스 콩쿠르 바이올린 부문에서 한국인 최초로 우승하며 국제무대에서 주목받은 연주자.
금호음악인상, 대원음악상 신인상 등을 수상하며 국내외에서 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있다. 2021년에는 미국 포브스가 선정한 ‘30세 이하 아시아 리더’에 클래식 연주자 중 유일하게 이름을 올렸다.
