㈔세계여성평화그룹(IWPG, 대표 전나영)이 최근 충북 청주 엔포드호텔에서 ‘2025 세계여성평화 콘퍼런스’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
세계여성평화그룹에 따르면, 이번 콘퍼런스는 ‘갈등을 넘어: 희망과 회복을 향한 여성의 평화 리더십’이라는 부제로 국내외 여성 리더 800명이 참석해 지속가능한 평화 실현 방안을 논의했다.
특히, 말리 전 빈투 푸네 바우아헤 사마케 여성·아동·가족진흥부 장관, 예멘 파이자 압델라퀴브 살람 문화부차관, 리비아 아이샤 알 마흐디 샬라비 국회의원 등 현재 분쟁 중이거나 분쟁을 겪은 지역의 핵심 여성 정치인들이 대거 참석해 주목을 끌었다.

미얀마 킨무무한 만달레이 여성청년기독교협회 총무, 몽골 볼드 바추브드 여성연합회 회장, 멕시코 카렌 엘리자베스 레온 로메로 UNAM 대학교 평화위원장 등 44명의 해외 인사와 25명의 국내 평화 활동가들이 참여해 각국의 평화 실천 경험을 공유하고 협력 방안을 모색했다.
