대구북구자원봉사센터는 대구시 주관 '2025년 구·군 자원봉사센터 평가'에서 우수상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
이번 평가는 2024년 기준 자원봉사 참여율과 활성화 사례 등을 종합적으로 반영해 진행됐다. 북구자원봉사센터는 성숙한 자원봉사 문화 확산과 역량 강화에서 높은 점수를 받았다.
특히 기후변화 대응 활동 등 지속가능발전목표 실현을 위한 자원봉사를 적극 추진해 탄소중립에 기여한 점이 주목을 받았다.
현재 북구에는 총인구의 31%인 약 12만9895명이 자원봉사자로 등록돼 다양한 분야에서 활동하고 있다.
고진호 센터장은 "사회문제가 다변화되면서 자원봉사에도 새로운 변화가 요구되고 있다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회가 필요로 하는 다양한 프로그램을 발굴하고 활성화를 위해 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
