대전 지역 문학을 무대 예술로 확장한 색다른 창작 공연이 막을 올린다.
금비예술단은 2025 한국문화예술위원회 지역예술도약지원사업에 선정된 작품 ‘시인의 도발’을 오는 27일 오후 5시, 대전 별별마당(우금치)에서 선보인다고 23일 밝혔다. 이번 공연은 전석 무료로 진행된다.
이번 프로젝트에는 대전문화재단(대표이사 백춘희)의 추천을 받아 지원사업에 선정된 지역 시인 우종숙 작가가 참여한다.
그는 대표작 ‘포정의 칼’을 바탕으로 시의 언어와 창극배우들의 판소리, 악사들의 연주 그리고 한국적 춤선을 결합한 시창무극(詩唱舞劇)을 선보일 예정이다.
또한 세종 지역 시인 함순례의 ‘구석으로부터’를 해석한 발레 시무극과, 충남 기반 정덕재 시인의 ‘모욕은 촉촉해지지 않아요’를 현대 공연예술과 융합한 작품도 무대에 오른다. 다양한 시각적·청각적 요소가 결합된 이번 공연은 문학의 무대를 확대하고 한국형 융합 콘텐츠의 가능성을 보여줄 전망이다.
‘시인의 도발’은 단순히 문학 낭독이나 시극을 넘어, 문학 텍스트에 음악과 무용, 창극의 감각을 접목해 K-컬처적 융합 무대를 구현하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 통해 지역 문학이 무대예술과 자연스럽게 연결돼 시민들이 새로운 감각으로 문학을 체험할 수 있는 기회가 제공된다.
이번 사업은 한국문화예술위원회가 지난 6월 공모한 지역예술도약지원사업의 일환이다. 전국 광역문화재단에서 추천한 창작 작품 가운데 우수성이 검증된 일부를 후속 지원하는 방식으로, 지역 기초예술의 성장과 창작자 발굴을 돕기 위해 기획됐다.
대전에서는 총 6건의 우수작이 선정됐으며, 문학 부문에서는 우종숙 시인이 이름을 올렸다.

Daejeon Poet Woo Jong-sook to Perform "Poet's Provocation"
A unique creative performance that expands Daejeon's local literature into theatrical art is about to begin.
The Geumbi Arts Troupe announced on the 23rd that it will present "Poet's Provocation," a work selected for the 2025 Arts Council Korea Regional Arts Development Support Project, on the 27th at 5 PM at Byeolbyeol Madang (Ugeumchi) in Daejeon. Admission to the performance is free.
Local poet Woo Jong-sook, who was selected for the project upon recommendation from the Daejeon Cultural Foundation (CEO Baek Chun-hee), will participate in this project.
Based on her signature work "The Sword of Pojeong," she will present a sichangmugeuk (poetry and song dance drama) that combines the language of poetry with pansori performed by changgeuk actors, performances by musicians, and traditional Korean dance.
Also on stage will be a ballet-style dance performance interpreting "From the Corner" by Sejong poet Ham Soon-rye, and a piece that combines "Insult Doesn't Moisten" by Chungnam-based poet Jeong Deok-jae with modern performing arts. Combining diverse visual and auditory elements, this performance promises to expand the literary stage and showcase the potential of Korean-style convergence content.
"Poet's Provocation" goes beyond simple literary readings and poetic dramas. It aims to integrate literary texts with the sensibilities of music, dance, and changgeuk (traditional Korean opera) to create a K-cultural fusion stage. This effort seamlessly connects local literature with performing arts, providing citizens with an opportunity to experience literature through new perspectives.
This project is part of the Regional Arts Development Support Project, launched by the Arts Council Korea in June. This project provides follow-up support to selected works of proven excellence recommended by regional cultural foundations across the country, fostering the growth of local arts and discovering talented creators.
A total of six excellent works were selected in Daejeon, and poet Woo Jong-suk was named in the literature category.
