세종시가 행정안전부가 실시한 ‘2025년 상반기 재정집행 평가’에서 특광역시 중 유일하게 최우수기관에 이름을 올렸다.
23일 세종시에 따르면 세종시는 올해 1분기 평가에서도 최우수기관으로 선정된 데 이어 상반기 평가에서도 다시 한번 성과를 인정받아 총 43억 원의 특별교부세 인센티브를 확보했다. 이는 1분기 확보한 23억 원에 이번 추가 인센티브 20억 원이 더해진 액수다.
이번 평가는 전국 지자체의 신속집행 실적과 소비·투자 목표 달성 여부를 종합해 상위 기관을 가려냈다. 세종시는 신속집행 목표액 4152억 원을 크게 웃도는 5038억 원을 집행, 886억 원을 초과 집행했다.
소비·투자 부문에서도 목표액 1,370억 원을 상회하는 1406억 원을 집행하며 36억 원을 초과 달성했다. 이 같은 실적은 세종시가 전국 특광역시 가운데 유일하게 최우수 지자체로 뽑히는 배경이 됐다.
세종시는 이번 성과로 확보한 재원이 지역경제 선순환에 기여할 수 있도록 적극 활용할 계획이다. 특히 경기 회복의 속도를 높이고 시민 체감도를 높이는 현안 사업에 배분, 신속하고 효율적인 집행을 이어간다는 목표를 세우고 있다.
