【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=지난 22일 포항 해병대교육훈련단은 이른 아침부터 붉은 명찰을 꿈꾸는 청년들과 그들을 배웅하는 가족들로 북적였다. 제1322기 신병 4천여 명이 입영하는 날, 교육단 정문 앞은 이별의 눈물과 응원의 함성으로 가득 찼다.
이날 현장에는 포항시해병대전우회(회장 고한중) 회원들도 함께했다. 이들은 교통과 안전 질서를 챙기며 ‘선배 해병’의 든든한 모습을 보였다. 무엇보다도 눈길을 끈 건 필리핀 출신 수탁 장교 2명에 대한 후원인 위촉식이었다. 해병대 창설 이래 처음으로 외국인 수탁 장교에게 후원인이 임명된 것이다.

필리핀 해병대 장교들은 앞으로 10주간의 훈련을 받으며 대한민국 해병대의 정신과 문화를 직접 체득한다. 포항시해병대전우회는 그들에게 단순한 교육뿐 아니라 한국 생활을 경험할 기회도 제공할 예정이다. 문화 체험, 지역 유적 탐방, 가정 방문 등이 준비돼 있다.
오경준 대구경북지방병무청장은 이날 축사에서 "입영문화제는 병역을 이행하는 청년들에게 자부심을 주는 자리"라며 "국민 모두가 그들의 도전을 존중하는 사회가 되길 바란다"고 말했다.
고한중 회장 역시 "부모에게는 믿음직한 아들, 사회에서는 당당한 해병인이 되길 바란다"며 신병들에게 진심 어린 격려를 전했다.
포항시해병대전우회는 매월 두 차례 이상 입영식 봉사활동을 이어오고 있으며, 부모가 없는 장병들에게 따뜻한 식사를 제공하는 등 지역 사회와 함께하는 ‘해병대 가족 공동체’를 만들어가고 있다.

Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Military Manpower Administration Director Oh Kyung-joon said in his congratulatory remarks, "The enlistment ceremony is a moment of pride for young men fulfilling their military service. I hope that our society will respect their challenges."
Chairman Koh Han-joong also offered heartfelt encouragement to the new recruits, saying, "I hope you will become trustworthy sons to your parents and proud Marines in society."
The Pohang Marine Corps Comrades Association continues to volunteer at enlistment ceremonies at least twice a month and provides warm meals to soldiers without parents, fostering a "Marine Corps family community" that engages with the local community.
