유진그룹(회장 유경선)의 모회사 유진기업(대표 최재호)이 친환경 레미콘 인증을 잇달아 확보하며 ESG 경영 행보에 속도를 내고 있다.
유진기업은 25일 환경부로부터 레미콘 저탄소제품 2개 규격과 환경성적표지제품 1개 규격을 새롭게 인증받았다고 밝혔다. 이번 인증으로 유진기업은 저탄소 제품 25개, 환경성적표지 58개 등 총 83개 규격의 친환경 레미콘을 보유하게 됐다.
추가 인증을 받은 제품은 △저탄소 인증 ’25-21, 수도권’, ’25-21, 강원도’ 2개 규격과 △환경성적표지 인증 ’25-21, 충청도’ 1개 규격이다. 환경성적표지는 국제표준 ISO 14025를 근거로 운영되는 제도로, 제품의 생산·수송·사용·폐기 등 전 과정에서의 환경 영향을 수치화해 표시한다. 이산화탄소 배출량을 기준으로 ‘탄소발자국’과 ‘저탄소제품’으로 구분된다.
유진기업은 2018년 업계 최초로 저탄소 제품 인증을 획득한 이후 지속적인 연구개발로 친환경제품군을 확대해왔다. 회사 측은 “레미콘 업계 1위 기업으로서 ESG 경영을 선도하며 업계 전반의 지속가능성을 높이는 데 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 유진기업은 2018년 ‘25-24-150’, 2019년 ‘25-21-150’ 규격 제품에 대해 업계 최초로 저탄소 인증을 받은 바 있다. 이번 추가 인증으로 유진기업의 친환경 제품 라인업은 더욱 공고해졌다는 평가다.

Eugene Corporation, the parent company of Eugene Group (Chairman Yoo Gyeong-seon), is accelerating its ESG management by consistently acquiring eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete certifications.
On September 25, Eugene Corporation announced that it had received new certifications from the Ministry of Environment for two ready-mixed concrete specifications as low-carbon products and one as an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) product. This brings the company's total number of eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete specifications to 83, comprising 25 low-carbon products and 58 EPD products.
The newly certified products include two low-carbon specifications: '25-21, Seoul Metropolitan Area' and '25-21, Gangwon Province,' along with one EPD specification: '25-21, Chungcheong Province.' The EPD is a system based on the international standard ISO 14025, which quantifies and displays the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle, including production, transport, use, and disposal. Products are categorized into 'carbon footprint' and 'low-carbon products' based on their CO2 emissions.
Eugene Corporation has been expanding its range of eco-friendly products through continuous research and development since becoming the first in the industry to obtain a low-carbon product certification in 2018. The company stated, "As the top company in the ready-mixed concrete industry, we will lead ESG management and contribute to increasing the overall sustainability of the industry."
In 2018, Eugene Corporation was the first in the industry to receive low-carbon certifications for its '25-24-150' and, in 2019, '25-21-150' specifications. These recent additional certifications are seen as a move that further solidifies the company's eco-friendly product lineup.
