브레이크뉴스 노보림 기자= 전남 강진군이 가을 관광객의 발길을 사로잡을 이색 축제를 준비하며 ‘관광 르네상스’의 서막을 올리고 있다.
오는 9월 27일 목포~강진~보성을 잇는 남해선 철도가 개통되면서 강진의 접근성이 획기적으로 높아진 가운데, 지역 상권과 청년 창업, 농업 판로 확대를 아우르는 ‘불금불파(불타는 금요일 불고기 파티) 축제’가 지난 9월 5일부터 11월 1일까지 매주 금·토요일 오후 4시부터 8시까지 병영시장 일원에서 열리고 있다.
이 축제는 불고기를 주제로 한 먹거리 장터, 농부장터와 청년 창업존, EDM 공연, 캠핑까지 결합한 종합형 지역문화 플랫폼으로 자리매김했다.
강진원 군수는 “불금불파 축제는 주민의 행복을 최우선 가치로 두고 추진한 사업”이라며 “지역경제를 살리고 청년에게는 기회를, 농민에게는 판로를 제공하는 다층적 효과를 갖고 있다”고 강조했다.

축제를 총괄하는 사단법인 한국축제문화진흥협회 김종원 이사장도 “강진은 남해선 개통과 반값 여행 정책으로 전국 어디서나 올 수 있는 열린 도시가 됐다”며 “불금불파 축제와 ‘강진만 춤추는 갈대 축제’는 강진이 가진 매력을 보여주는 대표 무대가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
특히 제10회를 맞는 ‘강진만 춤추는 갈대 축제’는 10월 25일부터 11월 2일까지 강진만 생태공원에서 9일간 열린다. 갈대와 노을을 배경으로 한 가을 정취에 더해 인기 가수 공연과 다채로운 체험 프로그램이 마련돼 올가을 대표적인 전국 축제로 손꼽힐 전망이다.
강진군은 앞서 ‘반값 여행’ 정책을 통해 전국적 주목을 받은 데 이어, 이번 철도 개통과 연계한 축제 전략으로 남도 끝자락을 전국 관광의 중심지로 끌어올린다는 계획이다.
