신천지예수교 증거장막성전(총회장 이만희, 이하 신천지예수교회)이 27일 신천지 청주교회에서 ‘계시록 성취 실상증거 신천지 말씀대성회’를 개최하며 다시 한번 교계의 이목을 집중시키고 있다.
신천지예수교회는 1985년부터 40여 년간 요한계시록의 예언과 성취된 실상을 명쾌하게 증거하며 국내외에서 ‘계시록 맛집’이라는 별칭을 얻을 만큼 큰 관심을 받아왔다. 특히 올해 들어서만 벌써 세 차례 말씀대성회를 진행했으며, 목회자만을 대상으로 한 집회에도 1,700여 명이 참석하는 등 교계의 뜨거운 반응을 이끌어냈다.

이날 열리는 말씀대성회에는 이만희 총회장이 직접 강사로 나서 ‘요한계시록’의 핵심 예언과 성취 내용을 전했다. 신천지예수교회 측은 이번 행사가 목회자뿐 아니라 일반 시민까지 참석하면서, 청주교회 4층 본당 1천여 석이 조기 마감됨에 따라 교회 내 수용 공간과 야외 공간까지 개방해 총 7,500여 명이 참석하도록 했다고 밝혔다.
신천지 측은 “앞선 말씀대성회에 참여했던 목회자들 사이에서 입소문이 확산되면서 사전 문의가 쇄도했다”며, 동료 목회자에게 직접 참석을 권유하는 사례가 급증해 이번 행사가 교계 말씀 교류의 장으로 발전하고 있다고 설명했다.
참석을 희망한 한 목회자는 “신천지예수교회의 여러 세미나와 말씀 교육 영상을 유튜브로 봤는데 지극히 성경적이었다”며, “더 자세히 알고 내 눈으로 직접 확인하고 싶어 참석을 결정했다”고 기대감을 드러냈다.
