지트리아트컴퍼니와 아트팩토리GT가 9월 30일 (화) 19시 30분 대구 문화예술회관 팔공홀에서 K-오페라 <공모>를 선보인다.
광복 80주년을 기념해 애국지사 ‘박희광’ 선생을 기리는 창작 오페라 공연이다. 시나리오부터 곡까지 새롭게 써서 야심차게 발표하는 창작작품.

경상북도 선산(善山) 봉곡 출생인 박희광 선생은 만주에서 활동한 대표적인 독립운동가로 통의부, 참의부에서 활동했다.
일본 영사관 습격, 친일파 정갑주와 가족 암살, 독립운동가 체포를 위해 활동한 스파이 배정자, 이용구, 최정규의 암살 임무 등 항일 독립운동 단체와 임시정부에 많은 도움을 주었다. 무기와 군자금도 적극 조달했다.
1924년 보민회 이용구와 대표적인 친일파인 일진회 최정규 암살 시도에는 실패했으나, 이 사건은 당시 대표적인 항일 독립운동으로 뤼순(여순) 지역 언론에 보도되었다. 독립운동가들에게 독립운동을 펼치는 데 상당한 영향력을 주었고 친일파들에게는 두려움을 안겨주었다.

1924년 6월 7일 박희광 선생은 상해임시정부(김구 선생)의 지령으로 김광추, 김병현과 함께 봉천 일본 총영사관에 폭탄을 투척했으나 불발로 실패했다. 하지만 이에 굴하지 않고 이날 저녁 일본 요정 대서관금정관에서 군자금 300엔을 탈취하는 과정에서 일본, 중국 경찰과 총격전 끝에 현장에서 김병현 선생과 함께 체포되었다.
김광추 선생은 총격전을 벌이다 현장에서 순국했다. 이 사건으로 박희광 선생은 뤼순에서 징역 20년을 선고받아 15년 동안 독립운동가 중 최장기수로 복역했다.

지트리아트컴퍼니의 해설이 있는 오페라 시리즈는 2018년에 첫 번째 작품 <사랑의 묘약>으로 매진 사례를 이루었다.
이후 <리골렛토>, <춘향전>, <놀부전> 등 작품으로 매진 행렬과 함께 여러 도시에 초청되기도 했다. 아양아트센터와 공동 기획된 <세빌리아의 이발사> 역시 성공적인 공연이라는 호평을 받았다.

이번 공연의 제작은 현동헌, 기획은 소은경, 대본/연출은 최득규, 작곡/지휘는 나인실, 음악감독은 오국환, 음악코치는 김현서가 맡는다. 소리꾼 김수경 씨가 박희광 선생의 어머니 역할을 맡아 성악과 판소리의 절묘한 앙상블을 연출한다.
노인 박희광 역은 바리톤 임봉석, 청년 박희광 역은 테너 최호업, 암살단 김광추 역은 바리톤 권성준, 암살단 김병현 역은 바리톤 이준학이 열연한다.
영희 역은 소프라노 소은경, 어머니 역은 소리꾼 김수경, 박윤하 역은 바리톤 김응화, 어린 박희광 역은 박민영 어린이, 나카무라 역은 신동민, 이토/사카모토 역은 구주완, 최정규 역은 조용채, 정갑주 역은 서동영, 친구 역은 박소산, 아들 역은 석은석, 어린이 박희광 역은 설아율이 맡는다.
그리고 구미시립합창단(지휘 박진우)과 지트리오케스트라가 함께 한다.

This original opera commemorates the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation and honors the patriot Park Hee-kwang. This ambitious original work features a completely new script and score.
Born in Bonggok, Seonsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Park Hee-gwang was a prominent independence activist active in Manchuria, serving in the Tonguibu and Chamuibu.
He provided significant assistance to anti-Japanese independence movement groups and the Provisional Government, including raiding the Japanese consulate, assassinating pro-Japanese collaborator Jeong Gap-ju and his family, and assassinating spies Bae Jeong-ja, Lee Yong-gu, and Choi Jeong-gyu, who were working to capture independence activists. He also actively procured weapons and military funds.
In 1924, the assassination attempt on Bominhoe's Lee Yong-gu and the prominent pro-Japanese collaborator Iljinhoe's Choi Jeong-gyu failed, but the incident was reported in the Lushun (Lushun) local press as a prominent anti-Japanese independence movement of the time. It significantly influenced independence activists and instilled fear in pro-Japanese collaborators.
On June 7, 1924, Park Hee-gwang, along with Kim Gwang-chu and Kim Byeong-hyeon, threw a bomb at the Japanese Consulate General in Fengtian at the order of the Shanghai Provisional Government (Kim Gu), but the bomb failed to explode. However, undaunted, he attempted to steal 300 yen in military funds from the Japanese restaurant, Daishogan Geumjeong-gwan, that evening. A shootout with Japanese and Chinese police ensued, and he was arrested along with Kim Byung-hyun.
Kim Gwang-chu died at the scene during the shootout. For this incident, Park Hee-gwang was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Lushun, serving 15 years, the longest sentence among independence activists.
The Jitree Art Company's narrated opera series achieved a sold-out success with its first production, "The Elixir of Love," in 2018. This performance was produced by Hyun Dong-heon, planned by So Eun-kyung, scripted and directed by Choi Deuk-gyu, composed and conducted by Na In-sil, musical director Oh Guk-hwan, and music coach Kim Hyun-seo. Singer Kim Soo-kyung will play the mother of Park Hee-gwang, creating a sublime ensemble of vocal and pansori.
Baritone Lim Bong-seok will play the elderly Park Hee-gwang, tenor Choi Ho-eop will play the young Park Hee-gwang, baritone Kwon Seong-jun will play the assassin Kim Gwang-chu, and baritone Lee Jun-hak will play the assassin Kim Byeong-hyeon.
Soprano So Eun-kyung will play Young-hee, singer Kim Soo-kyung will play the mother, baritone Kim Eung-hwa will play Park Yoon-ha, child Park Min-young will play the young Park Hee-kwang, Shin Dong-min will play Nakamura, Ku Ju-wan will play Ito/Sakamoto, Jo Yong-chae will play Choi Jeong-gyu, Seo Dong-young will play Jeong Gap-ju, Park So-san will play the friend, Seok Eun-seok will play the son, and Seol Ah-yul will play the young Park Hee-kwang.
The Gumi City Choir (conductor Park Jin-woo) and the G-Tri Orchestra will also perform.
