충남 서산시는 지난 26일부터 28일까지 서산 해미읍성 일원에서 열린 제22회 서산해미읍성축제가 관광객 20만 9천여 명이 방문하며 성공적으로 막을 내렸다고 밝혔다. 이번 축제는 ‘고성방가(古城放佳) 시즌3-과거·현재·미래의 지혜를 만나다’를 주제로 총 38개의 프로그램을 선보였다.
26일 개막식에서는 몬테네그로 민속 앙상블, 서산시립합창단의 공연에 이어 염동균 작가의 XR 드로잉 퍼포먼스가 해미읍성 축성과 서산 인물 및 역사를 가상 영상으로 재현해 관광객들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.
축제 기간인 27일과 28일에는 해미읍성의 600년 역사를 품은 공간에서 어린이 뮤지컬, 세계 민속 공연, 버스킹 등 다채로운 공연이 오전 11시부터 밤 9시까지 이어졌다. 상설 프로그램으로는 해미해피테이블, 어린이놀이터, 키즈존, 해미네컷, 해미피크닉, 생활사박물관, 해미장터 등이 운영됐다.
체험터와 민속 놀이터에서는 전통 복식, 당근마켓, 다듬이질, 떡메치기 등 다양한 전통 체험도 펼쳐졌다. 또한 전통 혼례 체험과 태종대왕 행렬은 해미읍성의 역사적 의미를 깊이 있게 체험할 수 있는 기회로 평가받았다.
