브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 올 상반기 중간배당 기업이 전년 동기 대비 26.2% 늘고, 금액은 17.0% 많아지며 두 자릿수 증가세를 보인 것으로 나타났다.
연 1회 결산 배당에만 치중하던 모습에서 벗어나 정부의 밸류업(기업가치 제고) 정책과 상법 개정 흐름에 맞춰 중간배당을 확대하는 추세가 뚜렷해진 것. 단, 여전히 상장사 전체 중 5% 가량만 중간배당에 참여하는 것이어서 개선 여지는 큰 상황이다.
30일 리더스인덱스에 따르면 2688개 상장사(스팩·우선주 제외)를 대상으로 올해 상반기(1·2분기) 배당 현황을 조사한 결과, 총 135개사가 12조6763억원을 배당했다.
지난해 같은 기간 107개사 10조8379억원 대비 기업 수는 26.2%(28곳), 금액은 17.0%(1조8384억원) 증가했다. 보통주 평균 시가배당률 역시 1.29%에서 1.44%로 0.15%p 상승했다.
분기배당 기업도 확대됐다. 2025년 1·2분기 연속 배당한 기업은 26개사로 전년(21개사)보다 5곳 늘었으며, 이 중 2년 연속 분기배당을 이어간 곳은 18개사다.
삼성전자, 현대차, KB금융, 신한지주, SK하이닉스, 포스코홀딩스, SK텔레콤, 하나금융지주, 우리금융지주, KT, HD현대, JB금융지주, CJ제일제당, 케이카, 씨젠, 아이마켓코리아, 효성ITX, 브랜드엑스코퍼레이션이 이에 해당한다.
올해 새롭게 중간배당에 나선 기업은 48개사였고, 지난해 배당했던 20개사가 빠지면서 전체적으로는 28개사가 순증했다.
HD현대 계열 4곳(HD한국조선해양·HD현대중공업·HD현대일렉트릭·HD현대미포)을 비롯해, ㈜LG, 포스코인터내셔널, 한국타이어앤테크놀로지, 롯데쇼핑 등이 새롭게 배당 대열에 들었다. 특히 ㈜LG와 동서, 동원산업은 창사 이래 첫 중간배당을 결정하며 상징성을 더했다.
