브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 양문석 더불어민주당 의원(경기 안산시갑)이 신안산선 노선 연장과 자이역 신설을 국토교통부 장관에 공식 건의했다.
양 의원은 30일 오후 정동 국토발전전시관에서 김윤덕 국토교통부 장관을 만나 제5차 국가철도망 구축계획에 관련 사업을 반영해달라는 건의서를 전달했다. 이날 면담에는 안산시의회 한명훈 기획행정위원장, 최찬규 시의원, 전준호 전 안산시의회 의장도 함께해 안산시민의 교통 편의와 지역 균형발전을 위해 해당 사업의 필요성을 강조했다.
양 의원은 “최근 안산사이언스밸리가 경기경제자유구역으로 지정되고, 사동 지역에 7,600세대 규모의 대단지 아파트 입주가 예정되는 등 대규모 개발계획이 추진되고 있다”며 “개발에 앞서 교통대책을 마련해 대중교통 접근성을 개선해야 한다”고 밝혔다.
또한 “신안산선 대부도 연장과 자이역 신설은 제21대 대통령선거 당시 지역 공약으로 반영된 사안”이라며 “사업이 추진되면 안산 사동을 비롯한 철도 서비스 수혜 지역이 확대돼 교통 여건이 크게 개선될 것”이라고 말했다.
이번 건의는 지난 5월 안산 지역에서 열린 주민간담회의 후속 조치다. 양 의원은 “사업이 제5차 국가철도망 구축계획에 포함될 수 있도록 국토교통부와 지속 협의해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.
