경주시는 지난 9월 26일부터 28일까지 3일간 교촌한옥마을과 월정교, 계림, 첨성대 일원에서 열린 ‘2025 경주국가유산야행’이 성황리에 막을 내렸다고 9일 밝혔다.
‘선물 PRESENT: 지켜온, 그리고 지켜낼’을 주제로 열린 이번 행사는 국가유산청, 경상북도, 경주시가 공동 주최하고 경주문화원이 주관했다. 공연·전시·체험 등 8개 분야 33개 프로그램이 운영되며, 국가유산의 가치를 현대적으로 재해석해 주목을 받았다.
가장 큰 화제를 모은 건 행사 둘째 날 열린 공군 특수비행팀 블랙이글스의 에어쇼였다. 월정교 상공을 가른 정밀한 편대 비행과 곡예비행에 관람객들이 환호를 보냈고, 현장은 순식간에 뜨거운 열기로 가득 찼다.
행사장 곳곳에서는 시민과 관광객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 체험형 프로그램이 이어졌다. 인문학 강연, 어린이 국가유산 해설사 선발대회, 리사이클링 크레파스 채색 체험, 반려동물 동반 프로그램 등 남녀노소가 참여할 수 있는 콘텐츠가 풍성했다.
또 얼음 조각과 모래 조각 전시를 통해 기후 위기와 환경 보호의 메시지를 전했고, 미디어아트·드론쇼·버스킹 등 전통과 현대가 어우러진 콘텐츠는 관람객에게 색다른 야간 문화경험을 선사했다.
특히 다회용기 사용 장려, 벼룩시장, 리사이클링 체험 등을 통한 ‘필(必)환경 축제’ 운영은 지속 가능한 축제 모델로 긍정적인 평가를 받았다.
경주시에 따르면 이번 행사에는 3일간 약 9만 명이 방문하며, SNS와 언론에서도 “경주의 밤이 달라졌다”는 호평이 이어졌다.
