【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 동구청은 제16회 동구 장애극복상 수상자로 김난영 씨(43)와 황영호 씨(70)를 선정했다고 13일 밝혔다.
‘동구 장애극복상’은 장애의 어려움을 이겨내고 자립한 개인과 장애인 복지 향상에 기여한 봉사자에게 주어지는 상으로, 지역사회 안에서 귀감이 되는 이들을 격려하기 위해 제정됐다.

장애극복 부문 수상자인 김난영 씨는 심한 신체장애를 딛고 학업과 직장생활을 병행하며 꾸준히 자기계발에 힘써 왔다. 현재는 지역사회 발전과 사회통합에 기여하며 장애를 넘어선 삶의 모범이 되고 있다.

장애인봉사 부문 수상자인 황영호 씨는 추락사고로 지체장애를 입은 이후에도 40년 가까이 중증장애인과 어르신을 위한 이동지원, 공연, 급식 봉사 등 다양한 나눔 활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다.
올해 수상자는 지난 8월 28일부터 9월 26일까지 진행된 공모를 통해 추천받았으며, 심사위원회의 엄정한 공적 심사를 거쳐 최종 선정됐다. 시상식은 오는 11월 1일 열리는 ‘동구복지한마당’에서 진행될 예정이다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “어려운 상황을 이겨내며 재활에 성공하고, 이웃사랑을 몸소 실천해 오신 두 분께 진심으로 축하의 말씀을 드린다”며 “앞으로도 따뜻한 나눔이 있는 포용적인 지역사회를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

Hwang Young-ho, the recipient of the Disability Volunteer Award, has continued to engage in various volunteer activities for the severely disabled and the elderly for nearly 40 years, including providing transportation assistance, performances, and meal service, even after suffering a physical disability in a fall.
This year's winners were nominated through a public contest held from August 28 to September 26, and were selected after a rigorous public review by a judging committee. The awards ceremony will be held at the Dong-gu Welfare Festival on November 1.
Dong-gu Mayor Yoon Seok-jun said, "I sincerely congratulate these two individuals for overcoming difficult circumstances, successfully completing rehabilitation, and demonstrating their love for their neighbors. We will continue to build an inclusive community filled with warm sharing."
