경남·경북·전북 3개 광역과 김해 등 7개 기초자치단체의 끈끈한 협력 끝에, 재단법인 가야고분군 세계유산관리재단이 13일 김해 국립가야역사문화센터 일원에서 공식 출범하며 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다.
이날 출범식은 '일곱 개의 이야기, 하나의 가야'라는 주제 아래, 김해 대성동을 비롯해 함안, 창녕, 고성, 합천, 고령, 남원의 7개 고분군이 가진 지역별 특색을 인정하면서도, 이들을 통합된 '가야'라는 이름으로 세계 속에 보존하고 활용하겠다는 강력한 의지를 담고 있다.
