파주시가 조선시대 대학자 율곡 이이 선생의 철학과 사상을 기리는 '제35회 율곡문화제'를 지난 11일부터 12일까지 이틀간 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
올해로 35회를 맞은 율곡문화제는 선현들의 유덕을 기리는 추향제를 시작으로 과거급제자의 성공을 알리는 유가행렬 등 전통 프로그램이 진행됐다.

특히 파주시립예술단의 창작 뮤지컬과 전통연희 공연이 어우러져 방문객들에게 다채로운 볼거리를 선사했다.
행사 첫날에는 국악가수 남상일의 축하 공연이 펼쳐져 전통의 멋을 더했다.
둘째 날에는 '유튜버 궤도'가 '율곡에게 과학을 묻다'라는 주제로 역사와 과학을 융합한 강연을 진행해 눈길을 끌었다.
우천에도 불구하고 유적지를 찾은 시민들은 색다른 강연에 큰 호응을 보였다.
이번 문화제에서는 초·중·고교 학생들의 예술적 재능을 발휘할 수 있는 '제2회 율곡전국미술대회'와 '백일장'도 함께 열렸다.
이와 함께 다양한 체험 프로그램이 마련돼 방문객들에게 즐길 거리를 풍성하게 제공했다.
유초자 파주시 문화예술과장은 "이번 율곡문화제에 관심과 성원을 보내주신 시민 여러분께 감사드린다"며 "앞으로도 파주를 율곡 선생의 학문과 사상이 숨 쉬는 도시로 만들어가겠다"고 밝혔다.
