브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 검찰이 한국전력공사가 발주한 전력 설비 입찰 과정에서 낙찰가를 인위적으로 높이는 등의 방법으로 담합한 국내 제조업체들에 대해 강제 수사에 나섰다.
서울중앙지검 공정거래조사부(부장검사 나희석)는 15일 효성중공업, LS일렉트릭, HD현대일렉트릭, 일진전기 등 전력기기 제조업체 6곳과 한 조합 사무실, 사건 관계자들의 주거지 등에 대해 압수수색을 진행 중인 것으로 전해졌다.
이들 업체는 2015년부터 2022년까지 한전이 발주한 총 5600억 원 규모의 가스절연개폐장치(GIS) 구매 입찰에서 사전에 물량을 배분하기로 합의하고, 순차적으로 낙찰받는 방식으로 담합한 혐의를 받고 있다.
검찰은 이들 업체들의 담합 행위로 인해 낙찰가 상승과 한전의 구매비용 증가로 이어져, 결국 전기요금 인상 등 소비자 피해를 초래했다고 보고 있다.
문제가 된 GIS는 발전소나 변전소에 설치돼 과도한 전류를 신속히 차단함으로써 전력계통을 보호하는 핵심 설비다.
앞서 공정거래위원회는 지난해 해당 사건을 조사해 효성중공업, LS일렉트릭, 현대일렉트릭, 일진전기 등 10개 사업자에 총 391억 원의 과징금을 부과하고, 이 가운데 6개사를 검찰에 고발했다. 검찰은 공정위의 고발 내용을 토대로 본격적인 형사 수사에 착수한 것으로 알려졌다.
