【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 제106회 전국체육대회에 도내 고등부 선수단 82교 646명이 출전한다고 16일 밝혔다.
17일부터 23일까지 부산광역시 일원에서 열리는 이번 대회에서 경북교육청은 금메달 40개, 은메달 24개, 동메달 55개 등 총 119개의 메달 획득으로 고등부 종합 5연속 3위 달성을 목표로 하고 있다.
경북교육청은 선산고등학교 남자 핸드볼과 성주여자고등학교 여자 하키, 경북조리과학고등학교·우석여자고등학교 연합의 여자 18세 이하 부 소프트테니스 등 단체종목에서 두각을 나타내고 있다.
육상 종목에서는 금메달 9개 이상을 획득해 4회 연속 종목별 종합 우승 달성을 목표로 하고 있다.
사전경기로 열린 체조 종목에서 이번 대회의 첫 금메달 소식이 전해졌다. 김승회(포항제철고 3년)가 남자 18세 이하 부 안마 종목에서 13.100을 기록해 금메달을 획득했으며, 이어 안준기(포항제철고 3년)가 링 종목에서 13.600을 기록하며 두 번째 금메달을 땄다.
여자 18세 이하 부 카누 K-1 500m 경기에서 윤아안동여고 2년)가 동메달을 획득했으며, 배드민턴에서는 18세 이하 부 혼합복식의 강승현(경구고 3년)·강예림(김천여고 3년)이 은메달, 남자 단체전(경구고, 김천생명과학고 연합)이 동메달을 추가하며 순조로운 출발을 보였다.
임종식 교육감은 "경북 고등부 선수단은 지난 대회에 4회 연속 종합 3위를 차지하며 경북 학교체육의 저력을 입증했다"며 "이번 대회에서도 학생 선수와 지도자들이 갈고닦은 실력을 마음껏 발휘할 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다"고 말했다.

Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik said, "The Gyeongbuk high school team has proven the strength of Gyeongbuk school sports by taking third place overall for four consecutive times in the last competition," and added, "We will actively support student athletes and coaches so that they can fully demonstrate the skills they have honed in this competition as well."
