[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 제106회 전국체육대회가 17일 부산에서 개막한 가운데, 부산시교육청대표 선수단이 사전경기에서 큰 성과를 거뒀다.
교육청에 따르면, 지난 9월 25일부터 10월 16일까지 열린 사전경기에서 부산 대표 선수들은 금메달 1개, 은메달 2개, 동메달 2개 등 총 5개의 메달을 획득했다.
펜싱·태권도서 빛난 부산체육고
부산체육고등학교는 펜싱 여자 플러레 단체전에서 금메달을, 여자 플러레 개인전(조혜림 선수)에서 은메달을 차지했다. 남자 플러레 단체전에서도 동메달을 획득하며 펜싱 명문교로서의 위상을 다시금 증명했다.
태권도 종목에서도 부산체육고 이언지 선수가 여자 +73kg급에서 동메달을 차지해 학교 전체가 총 4개의 메달을 수확했다.
특히 여자 플러레 단체전 부산대표 선수들은 대부분 1·2학년 재학생으로 구성돼 젊은 선수층의 잠재력을 보여주었다. 조혜림 선수는 단체 금메달과 개인 은메달을 동시에 따내며 내년 제주도에서 열릴 제107회 전국체전에서의 활약을 예고했다.
대동고 정민섭 선수, 은메달 획득
대동고 정민섭 선수는 남자 에뻬 개인전에 출전해 예선부터 결승까지 역전 드라마를 써내며 은메달을 목에 걸었다. 정 선수의 끈질긴 승부근성과 투혼은 많은 관중의 박수갈채를 받았다.
본경기 목표, 금 14·총 63개 메달 도전
부산시교육청은 17일부터 23일까지 부산 전역에서 열리는 제106회 전국체육대회 본경기에 고등학교 67개교, 총 589명(임원 87명·선수 502명)을 출전시킨다. 선수단은 펜싱, 태권도 등 44개 종목에서 금메달 14개를 포함해 총 63개의 메달을 목표로 하고 있다.
전국체육대회는 대한체육회 주최, 문화체육관광부·교육부·지자체·교육청 공동 주관으로 열리는 국내 최대 규모 종합체육대회다. 해마다 전국 시·도 대표 선수들이 모여 실력을 겨루며 대한민국 체육 발전의 경쟁무대 역할을 하고 있다.
김석준 부산시교육감은 “부산 대표선수들의 노력과 열정이 좋은 결실로 이어져 매우 기쁘다”며 “이번 대회가 더 큰 목표를 향한 성장의 발판이 되기를 바란다”고 격려했다.
시교육청은 사전경기에서 얻은 성과를 바탕으로 이번 전국체전에서 상위 입상을 이어가고, 내년 5월 부산에서 열릴 제55회 전국소년체육대회에서도 선전을 이어가기 위해 선수단을 아낌없이 지원할 방침이다.

Busan Sports High School Shines in Fencing and Taekwondo
Busan Sports High School captured multiple medals across fencing and taekwondo events. The school’s fencing team claimed the gold medal in the women’s foil team event and a silver in the women’s individual foil (by Cho Hye-rim). The men’s team also brought home a bronze medal, reaffirming the school’s reputation as a powerhouse in fencing.
In taekwondo, Lee Eon-ji from Busan Sports High School won a bronze medal in the women’s +73kg category, bringing the school’s total medal count to four.
Particularly noteworthy is that most members of the women’s foil team are freshmen and sophomores, showcasing the promising depth of Busan’s younger generation of athletes. Cho Hye-rim’s gold in the team event and silver in the individual category have raised expectations for her performance at next year’s 107th National Sports Festival in Jeju.
Dedong High School’s Jung Min-seop Earns Silver
Jung Min-seop of Daedong High School won the silver medal in the men’s épée individual event after a thrilling series of comeback victories from preliminary rounds through to the finals. His perseverance and fighting spirit drew applause from spectators throughout the competition.
Gold Goal of 14 and a Total of 63 Medals in Main Events
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is fielding 589 participants (including 87 officials and 502 athletes) from 67 high schools for the main competitions, which will be held across the city from October 17 to 23. Busan aims to achieve 14 gold medals and a total of 63 medals in 44 sports, including fencing and taekwondo.
The National Sports Festival, organized by the Korea Sports Council and co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, local governments, and education offices, is the largest comprehensive sports event in South Korea. Every year, top athletes from across the nation gather to compete, representing the pinnacle of amateur sports excellence.
