【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시의회 이태손 의원(달서구4)은 오는 21일 열리는 제320회 임시회에서 엑스코의 사업분야 확대와 전문성 강화를 위한 ‘대구광역시 주식회사 엑스코 설립 조례 일부개정조례안’을 대표 발의한다.
이 의원은 “MICE 산업이 디지털 전환과 시설 고도화로 빠르게 변화하고 있다”며 “전시·회의의 온·오프라인 결합은 물론 예약, 결제, 참가등록 등 전 과정이 디지털 기반으로 바뀌고 있는 만큼, 엑스코도 이에 대응해 서비스와 기능을 강화해야 한다”고 밝혔다.
개정안은 △국제회의 유치 및 개최지원 사업 신설 △전시·회의 시설의 온라인 예약 및 결제 서비스 제공 근거 신설 △주요 사업 수행 과정에서 발생하는 부대사업 추진 근거 마련 등 확장된 사업 범위를 반영했다.
이 의원은 “이번 조례 개정으로 엑스코의 전문성과 경쟁력을 제고할 수 있는 제도적 기반이 마련됐다”며 “엑스코가 변화하는 MICE 환경 속에서 민첩하게 대응하며 글로벌 전시·회의 산업의 중심으로 자리 잡길 기대한다”고 말했다.
