【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=추종주행 기술과 인공지능(AI)을 접목한 로봇 전문기업 ㈜아이로바(대표 이배희)가 호주와 뉴질랜드 시장에 진출한다.
아이로바는 지난 17일 (사)대경ICT산업협회 회원사로서 호주 법인 ‘IROVA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD’(대표 Kevin Choi)와 총판 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이를 통해 아이로바는 자사 캐디 로봇 ‘헬로캐디(HelloCaddy)’의 개인용 모델 ‘HelloCaddy_ME’를 본격 수출하게 된다. 헬로캐디는 골프백을 싣고 골퍼를 따라다니며 라운딩을 돕는 자율주행 캐디 로봇으로, AI 기반 주행 기술을 적용해 이용자의 이동을 스스로 인식·추종하는 것이 특징이다.
‘IROVA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD’는 호주에서 20년 이상 골프 사업을 운영해 온 기업이 새롭게 설립한 법인으로, 이번 계약을 통해 호주와 뉴질랜드 지역 내 독점 판매권을 확보했다.
양사는 초도 물량 기준 약 70만 달러(약 10억 원) 규모의 수출 계약을 체결했으며, 향후 현장 사례를 기반으로 한 AI 기술 고도화와 제품 개선에도 협력할 예정이다.
Kevin Choi 대표는 “AI 모빌리티 캐디 로봇은 골프장의 서비스 수준을 한 단계 높일 혁신 제품”이라며 “골퍼들에게 새로운 워킹 라운딩 경험을 제공하게 돼 기대가 크다”고 말했다.
아이로바 이배희 대표는 “이번 협약을 계기로 세계 시장에서 경쟁력 있는 캐디 로봇 브랜드로 성장하겠다”며 “호주 법인과의 긴밀한 협력으로 글로벌 시장 개척에 속도를 내겠다”고 밝혔다.
