대구 ‘공유냉장고’ 1호점 개소식이 10월 25일(금) 오전 11시 30분 대구 옥토교회에서 열린다.
이태훈 달서구청장, 김주범 대구 시의원, 김은영 대구지속가능발전협의회 사무처장, 정재용 본리동 주민자치위원장 등 외부 인사와 교회 대표자들 50여 명이 자리를 빛낼 예정이다.
공유냉장고는 ‘누구나 음식물을 넣고 가져갈 수 있는 동네 사랑 나눔 공유 프로젝트’다. 이웃과의 음식 나눔을 통해 정을 나누고 먹거리 복지 사각지대를 해소하는 것이 목적이다.
이를 통해 건강하고 지속 가능한 먹거리를 제공하고 복지·건강·교육을 통한 시민 행복을 이루고자 한다. 또 버려지는 음식물을 줄임으로써 탄소배출을 감소시켜 기후변화 대응 활동에 기여할 수 있다.
먹거리가 낭비되고 있다는 자각하에 독일에서 시작한 공유냉장고는 현재는 세계 240여 개 도시에서 운영 중이다.
공유냉장고는 일차적으로 어려운 주민들을 대상으로 하지만, 마을 주민 모두가 공유냉장고의 주인이자 관리자며 이용 대상이 될 수 있다. 24시간 운영하므로 언제든 방문 가능하다.
공유냉장고 속 음식물은 누구나 가져갈 수 있고 누구나 넣을 수 있다. 음식물 보관이라는 특성상 들어오면 나가고 나가면 채워지는 선순환이 중요하다.

공유냉장고에는 채소/식재료, 과일, 반찬류, 통조림 등 가공품, 반조리식품, 냉동식품, 음료수, 빵, 떡, 간식류, 곡류, 음식점 상품권(쿠폰) 등이 공유 가능하다.
유통기한이 지난 음식물, 주류, 약품류, 건강보조식품, 불량식품, 냉장고에 장기 보관한 식품 등은 공유 불가.

김 목사는 얼마전 전도를 위해 마을 공원에 나갔다가 한 아저씨와 마주쳤다. 아저씨는 전도지와 물티슈를 건네는 그에게 “저에게는 먹을 것 좀 주세요. 먹을 것 아니면 안 받습니다.”라고 말했다.
곁에 계신 아주머니가 “저분은 하루 한 끼로 생활하니까 이해해 주세요.”라고 하시는 말씀을 들은 그는 동네 주민 중에 여전히 하루 한 끼 식사로 생활하시는 분들이 있다는 사실에 놀랐다.
그러던 중에 공유냉장고가 있다는 소식을 접하며 주민을 위해 섬길 수 있는 또 다른 기회라고 생각했다고 한다.

김 목사는 공유냉장고 이전부터 성탄절 컵라면 트리를 행정복지센터에 전달했고 반찬 봉사도 꾸준히 해왔다. 그리스도의 사랑이 교회 울타리를 넘어 주민들에게 퍼져나가는 소통과 섬김의 리더십을 추구한다.
공유냉장고의 초반 운영은 옥토교회 성도들의 헌금으로 진행할 계획이다. 김 목사는 앞으로는 “마을 주민, 기업체들의 기부와 협력으로 함께 만들어가고 싶다”고 전했다.
또 “복지 사각지대에 놓인 분들이 공유냉장고를 많이 이용했으면 좋겠고, 공유냉장고가 2호 3호 계속 늘어나 동네마다 행복이 넘쳐나기를 소망한다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
