이날 국감에서는 대구 지역 학교에서 인공지능 디지털 교과서(AIDT) 채택률이 전국적으로 너무 높다는 점에 대해 집중적으로 질문이 이어졌다.

이어 “국회에서 AIDT를 교과서가 아닌 보조 교육 자료로 바꾸겠다고 했음에도 불구하고, 대구에서는 6월에 51억 원의 예산을 추가로 편성했다. 결국 쓸모 없이 남는 예산이 49억 원에 달할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “강제했다고 생각하기는 어렵다”며 “지난해 7월부터 교원 연수를 강화했고, 대부분 교사들이 연수를 받았다”고 해명했다. 또 “연수 후 실시한 만족도 조사에서는 90% 이상이 긍정적인 반응을 보였다”고 말했다.
이에 백 의원은 “연수 만족도와 별개로, 실제로 현장 교사들이 AIDT를 수업 시간에 활용할 의향이 있는지 따져봤느냐”며 “교사 의견은 무시한 채 교장이 일방적으로 학운위를 통해 도입을 밀어붙였다는 보도도 있었다. 실제 현장 상황을 조사해 보고해 달라”고 요구했다.
강 교육감은 “그런 강제성은 아직 확인된 바 없다”며 “추가로 관련 내용을 조사해 의원실에 보고하겠다”고 답했다.
예산 집행과 관련해서는 “2학기 예산 증액은 연간 집행 계획의 일부이며, 실제 남는 예산은 약 32억 원으로 예상된다. 연말 추경 때 내년 현장 지원에 쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
마지막으로 백 의원은 “다른 교육청들은 모두 AIDT 예산을 감축했는데, 대구만 유독 늘렸다”며 “교육감의 고집이 예산 낭비로 이어진다”며 비판했다.

Regarding budget execution, he stated, "The second semester budget increase is part of the annual execution plan, and the actual remaining budget is expected to be approximately 3.2 billion won. We will use the remaining budget for field support next year during the supplementary budget at the end of the year."
Finally, Rep. Baek criticized, "All other offices of education have reduced their AIDT budgets, but Daegu has increased them alone. The superintendent's stubbornness is leading to budget waste."
