이재명 대통령이 23일 "사정 기관 공직자가 사적 이익을 위해 기강을 파괴하거나 질서를 어지럽히는 데 권한을 사용하는 행위는 결코 용납돼선 안 된다"고 말했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실에서 열린 수석보좌관회의 모두 발언에서 "사정 기관 공직자야말로 사회 질서를 유지하는 최후 보루가 아니냐"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "최근 국정감사에서 일부 사정 기관들 문제에 대한 지적이 이어지고 있는 바 민주주의·법치주의를 파괴하는 그야말로 절대로 용서할 수 없는 기강문란 행위"라고 밝혔다.
또 "국민이 입을 벌릴 정도로 놀라고 있다"며 "공명정대해야 할 사정 기관 공직자들이 사회 기강을 확립하라 맡긴 공적 권한을 동원해 누가 봐도 명백한 불법을 덮어버리거나 없는 사건을 조작해 만들어 국가 질서를 어지럽히고 사적 이익을 취하고 있다"고 했다.
이어 "철저히 진상을 밝히고 그 잘못에 대해 법·원칙에 따라 엄정 처리하고 단죄해야 한다"고 했다.
더불어 "사정 기관 뿐 아닌 모든 공직자 권한은 다 주권자 감시 아래 공정·정당하게 행사돼야 한다"며 "모든 공직자는 이 점을 명확히 인지하고 공적 권한을 남용하거나 억울한 사람을 만드는 일이 절대 없도록 해 달라"고 덧붙였다.
