미국 백악관이 23일(현지시간) 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령의 1박 2일 방한 일정을 공식 발표했다. 트럼프 대통령 방한은 올 1월 자신의 2기 행정부 출범 이후 이번이 처음이다.
미 'CNN'에 따르면 캐럴라인 레빗 대변인은 이날 워싱톤 DC 백악관 정례브리핑을 통해 24일부터 오는 30일까지 예정된 트럼프 대통령의 아시아 순방 계획을 전하면서 이같이 밝혔다.
레빗 대변인은 "현지시간으로 수요일(29일) 아침 트럼프 대통령은 (일본 도쿄에서) 부산으로 비행 예정"이라며 "그곳(한국)에서 한국 대통령과 양자회담에 참여 예정"이라고 전했다.
또 "(현지시간 29일) APEC(아시아태평양경제협력체) 최고경영자(CEO) 오찬에서 기조연설을 하고 미·APEC 정상 만찬에 참여한다"며 "현지시간으로 목요일(30일) 아침 트럼프 대통령은 귀국에 앞서 시진핑( 중국 국가주석)과의 양자회담에 참여 예정"이라고 전했다.
트럼프 대통령은 25일(현지시간) 오후 11시 백악관을 떠나 미 대통령 전용기 에어포스 원편으로 아세안(ASEAN·동남아시아국가연합) 정상회의가 열리는 말레이시아로 향해 26일 오전(현지시간) 도착 후 이날 오후 안와르 이브라힘 말레이시아 총리와 회담하고 아세안 정상회의 만찬에 참석한다.
이어 오는 27일(현지시간) 오전 일본 도쿄로 이동해 오는 29일 오전 다카이치 사나에 신임 일본 총리와 회담 예정인 가운데 양 정상 간 대면은 이번이 처음이다.
